Re: Manchester United vs Liverpool - who is going to win?
I'm no scouser but Raphaels pass was a hospital ball, both players went in with intent to win the ball. The question is had Gerrard stayed on the floor and Carrick got up what would the result have been? For me Gerrard shouldve been given a yellow. As for the penalty, if the same sort of foul is committed outside the box and isnt called then it isnt a penalty and i can't see a foul like that even getting looked at outside the penalty area. Liverpool just unlucky, plain and simple.
Re: Manchester United vs Liverpool - who is going to win?
No way a penalty.
Gerrard didn't need to do what he did, reckless challenge in the middle of the park.

not surprised that i man u get a pen at old trafford. terrible call. don't understand how the linesman didn't pick up on it however gerrard didn't need to tackle like that. by the laws of the game, it was a red

Re: Manchester United vs Liverpool - who is going to win?
Referee Howard webb's family have spoken out in defence of him regarding alleged bias towards man utd! His 2 uncles, Dennis and Bobby, and his sons Cristiano and Wayne said he's extremely upset at the allegations

What?!?! Of course it's not a penalty outside of the box. Lol - I think I know what you mean though but had to have a dig.
But it's completely different when in the 18 yard box and by the rules, it was a penalty - plain and simple. It was a rash challenge by someone who should have known better.
Who?... Who is but a form, followed by the function of what... And what I am, is a man in a mask!

Explain how it's different. If I barely touch you outside the box, how does it differ.Squizzy wrote:Paokara wrote:I'm no scouser but Raphaels pass was a hospital ball, both players went in with intent to win the ball. Babel charged over referee tweet
Posted January 11, 2011 08:43:00
Liverpool midfielder Ryan Babel has been charged with improper conduct by the Football Association (FA) after posting a mocked-up photo of referee Howard Webb wearing a Manchester United shirt on Twitter.
The picture appeared on the Dutch forward's official page on Twitter just hours after United beat Liverpool 1-0 in the third round of the FA Cup - a match refereed by Webb.
Webb, who refereed last year's World Cup final, angered Liverpool by awarding United a first-minute penalty from which Ryan Giggs scored before sending off Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard.
As well as the photo, Babel wrote: "And they call him one of the best referees? That's a joke. SMH (shaking my head)."
The 24-year-old Dutchman subsequently apologised to Webb.
"My apology if they (Babel's Twitter 'followers') take my posted pic seriously. This is just an emotional reaction after losing an important game.
"Sorry Howard Webb."

Re: Manchester United vs Liverpool - who is going to win?
wow man united supporters are biased. that wouldn't be a foul in/out of the box any day of the week.

Re: Manchester United vs Liverpool - who is going to win?
1. It was a penalty; you make contact with the man, none of the ball... why is this even being argued?
2. It was a red card; you dont go in two feet, off the ground, miss the ball completely and expect leniency
end of story
ps. Fucking lol @ Babel

Re: Manchester United vs Liverpool - who is going to win?
read above. football is a contact sport. berba takes an extra step after being touched by agger and then goes to ground like he has been shot simply because he knew he wasn't going anywhere with the ball. if it had happened against man u, the man u fans would be complainingMato wrote:1. Re: Manchester United vs Liverpool - who is going to win?
1. So you're saying that every "contact with the man" warrants a foul?........think about it. is this netballnews.com.au?Mato wrote:1. It was a penalty; you make contact with the man, none of the ball... why is this even being argued?

2. He got the ball, but still went in dangerously. No one argues the red, although when you consider the same ref showed De Jong only a yellow for a fly kick on Alonso....go figure.

Re: Manchester United vs Liverpool - who is going to win?
This. Why are people making up rules here? Contact doesn't mean foul. The Kop wrote:1. So you're saying that every "contact with the man" warrants a foul?........think about it. is this netballnews.com.au?

How long are you guys gonna bitch and moan for? You lost to the better team (with or without Webb), deal with it.

I call it educating the less fortunate. Somehow, the Scum can't grasp that Webb made a massive boo-boo.

He made little contact with the man. By your theory, every 50/50 chance would be a foul.Mato wrote:1. It was a penalty; you make contact with the man, none of the ball... why is this even being argued?
