Hey Mate, not sure atm. I've asked Kitchimo and his response was "I've raised it with the SAASL a few times since the end of the season but got no response thus far"

I'll get the PIG to ask the quetion at the AGM

Colin referees now due mainly to his knees - he's a really great guy, does so much for the club. His son David Mooney plays he is a great player too

ISC Raptors Soccer club was saddened by the recent passing of one of its favourite sons, Peter V.

Peter was one of the founding members of the club and was loved and respected by all those he knew. Most will remember Peter for his honesty, his positivity, his caring nature and.......

.....his 90 minute warm ups to get ready for a game! But when he got on the park, he was usually on fire!

I remember one such game v Polonia years ago when we were 3-1 down needing a win to avoid relegation. Peter came on (not 100% fit by a long way) and managed to bag a lazy hat-trick to win us the game 4-3.

Typical Peter V - always one to make a positive impact whether on the pitch, or on peoples lives.

Were richer for having known you buddy.

You will be missed

RIP
(1976-2010)

theres more to that story maxim......

maybe the coach of OISC can confirm.....

the now OISC coach (a then player for the raptors) was driving to the ground (polonia) with the coach (whom he knows well  ). on the way there, the coach mentioned that he might drop Peter to the bench. the OISC coach mentioned that Peter had set himself up for that game by visiting the physio 3X that week. Feeling bad that he was going to drop a player who had spent so much money on rehab, he reinstalled Peter to the stating XI at the last minute (probably at my expense). as maxin stated, he scored a hat-trick to single handily win the game. for those of us (and you) who know the said coach of the raptors at the time would know that he pulls no punches at the selection table but on this occasion was swayed by Peters endeavour and determination to play.

i just hope that Peter, when playing for the 1st team 'up stairs' can play in his preferred position 'attacking midfield'. he has never forgiven me for insisting on him playing as a wing back.

Peters gentle nature and ability to make you feel a better person by simply being in his presence will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

RIP.................

I remember when P Cagialis was coaching and he asked Pete to come off the bench, I think it was around the 10 minute mark of the 2nd half that he asked him to come on, by the time he finished his warm up there was only about 15 minutes to go.

I remember using him as an excuse to not catch up with a deranged girlfriend quite a few years back, she happened to see him the next day and I had forgotten to tell him the night before, lets just say that he could have been a great goal keeper aswell.

he was an impact player and he was the same in life,
Pete you will be missed by all of those that have ever met you and a few boys will be playing on next year in memory of you.
Your passing will only further strengthen the bond and friendship of those that are involved with the club.
RIP mate!

RIP Pete,

A true life long friend from primary, high school, greek school, church and the raptors. Peter was one the main reasons this club has grown from a Div12 greek village team to a Eastern Suburbs community club with friendships that stem back 20+ years. I for one only came to club because of Pete and now i know why this club means so much to all of us Norwood boys.

It truly was an emotional day.

We will always be there for his family, friends and koumbari as he was there for us.

Memories of pete flood back with each day he is gone however one that stands out is his 3/9 bowling display for Magill Primary . Called in as emergencies to help cover missing players, Pete and I became cricket lovers thanks to Nathan , Scott Bassett and their family we became the first greek cricketers for Magill. The annual raptors 20/20 cricket match will have that extra emotion this year as will the whole 2011 season....the pieces have taken 15 years to put together lets hope with that extra help from above this year those missed chances go our way.It hasnt taken money and paying players to build the raptors its tough skin, a touch or sarcasm and lots of respect.

R.I.P

ps...does anyone remember why we called him chucky?......a few hints...lots of booze, the crazy horse and a mop and bucket from a stripper....good times man....good times...

Welcome to the ISC Raptors official Twenty20 BIG Bash Pre-season BBQ for 2011!

The event that you have all been waiting for has come upon us and will be held on Saturday 29 January 2011.

Venue: Raptors Park (Trinity Gardens Primary School - corner Devit Avenue and Portrush Road)

Time: 10:30am for a 11:00am coin toss!

New players are always welcome so tell your mates to come along and join in the fun. Did I mention the BBQ... yes that's right... what's a game of cricket without enjoying a few snags and a beer or two.

This is also your opportunity to meet and greet coaching staff for 2011.

You'll also be eager to know that pre-season training will also kick-off on Tuesday 2 February 2011 at 6:30pm sharp.

Players are advised to bring their boots and sneakers.

So hope to see you there.
