Steve was later interviewed for the position by myself Vice President, & the Treasurer at the time Lefty & was appointed Senior Coach. I didn't stand for re-election that year, 10 years on the committee was enough for me & we already had a succession plan in place with Lefty who took over as Chairman. Steves 1st 2 years coaching was very tough with the injury card playing a massive role 13 1st team starters out in the 2 years. The club however backed Steve and gave him a 3rd term a decision that payed off in Aces. I commend the decision of the Club & those who made it to re-appoint him a decission which was very hard one given the results fighting religation both years but winning the Challenge Cup. If our constitution was adhered to by the letter of the law we would have never had kept Barrie for those 8 years or got the reward we did this year for all the years & effort we put in.

re TTG coaching job... have heard there is only one application so far.... from someone who had a coaching position two years ago. when he got that job everyone suggested he wouldnt last the year, and sure enough he walked out half way through the season.

was also told by a couple of people at his previous club that his training sessions where shite

All our coaching takes place at the bar, by all reports he has the qualifications to apply.

Would be some interesting discussions taking place that's for sure :lol:

Have a committee dominated by Junior parents which is great
We dont have a budget each year set a side to pay our senior signings, who knows how much you put aside and I dont really care!
We continue to grow each year with our Juniors and have never dropped in numbers dont know about the 15 sides you have? Dont really care!
TTG must be doing something right to help Juniors grow with our great game and give them the best facilities.
Pilots is right we didnt have the players this year to be competitive this year but things go round in cycles. As you should know !
To say our club is a joke is a disgrace, well, your a disgrace, how about you keep your trap shut and concentrate on YOUR club and leave us to get on with growing the Juniors as does Modbury Vista, be good to see you attend a E & D meeting occasionally too and get involved with the growth of Junior Football. or do you just concentrate on the Seniors?

I know that the reference to this email is quite late but as a Raptors player we have had many good games against TTG over the years and we have always enjoyed playing at their ground, one of the very few in Div 2 that I can say that about. I must admit that I am sad to see them be relegated to Div 3 but I am sure that they will not only bounce back in a few years time but they will probably bounce back hard. It is only a matter of time before their junior setup pays dividends and they will be pushing for Div 1 once again as they were a couple of years ago along with us. Every team goes through it's cycles and TTG was unlucky not to survive it. We at Raptors have also experienced a changing of the guard and after a couple of difficult years we are very confident with the progress we have made. With Jim Tsekinis signing on again and the young Raptors players experiencing another year under his guidance we expect much bigger things next year.

good luck next year TTG, your rightful place is in at least Div 2 and I hope to be seeing you back next year.

We would have close to 400 juniors 5 senior teams plus 3 cricket 4 darts 3 8 ball
