Since we have a coaches one, why not start a who's going where

Downs are going to sign Nathan Day. Agars is returning to the Downs with Motts

Gardens are getting John Foat back and should sign Steven Stam.

They use to give his dad some stick when he played against them,but he would win out when it counted.

Frankie (Day) almost played for the Downs circa 1978-79 when Roy Ainscough was coaching. Downs had a strong side in 1978 but at the start of "79 Roy wanted the Club to offer incentives for the players and the Club decided not too.
Many of the 1978 team ended up at Inter for "beer money".
Nathan also played much of his Junior Football for the Downs, and I might be wrong, but I think he has children with the Downs Juniors at present????

Just what I have heard
I heard both Stam's to Playford and a couple of different Salisbury boys to SAASL.
Tea Tree Gully to recruit heavily from the current u/18's comp.
Ingle Farm to lose one top notch striker.
Downs to lose 1 and gain about 5.
Modbury Vista to sign someone a little bit "special".
Parafield Gardens to lose no one so far.
Para Hills East to grab two or three names from close clubs.
Florina to come up about 3-4 first teamers light.

We aint given Stamma up that easy, he knocked back Metro last year so why Playford now, Jay is closer to the mark anyway. 3 Stams sound better than 2 & chuck in another Foat

No great loss I heard his best years were behind him and has more injuries that Darren Anderton and recently his pre match preparation has not been setting a good example.

You could be right,he wasnt even 16 years old,solid build for his age, I think Tommy Williams ( former Polonia player ) was coach of the Reserves then......other than that I dont know.
It was a little precarious at Inter at that time,in '76 only just avoided relegation into the third division,consequences couldve been disastrous. I believe the committe back then decided they never wanted to see the club in that position again,had to make some changes,had a bit of a clean out - I think it paid off. '77 won promotion back into div 1, (finished R/Up to the Downs in div 2 ) thanks to a lot of the old players coming back from trying their luck at Federation Clubs,to help rescue the club,with the inclusion of course Frankie Day and a mate of his Mick Doris, and also J McFaul (Senior)- my dad use to be involved there ( good + bad times ).

The main thing that doing the job taught me marooned is You can please some of the people some of the time but you can please all of the people all of the time. And who at your club would take anyone serious who would argue over the Motts appointment. It's normally the bar stools who have done & do fk all with the biggest mouths

dont know klub man but i thought i would post in the Rumours 2011. it only a rumour i started myself.
