AV played Elizabeth Vale
AV wear yellow strips
Vale wear predminantly black strips
ref rocks up intom AV changeroom and says "their wearing black, ive only got a vblck and yellow top. U SORT IT OUT" and leaves.
Thankfully, the brains trust at AV, had the away kit (predominantly green top) handy!
but in all fairness, Black should be only allowed by the refs' I HATE this coloured crap that FIFA make the refs wear!
Good old days, REFS WORE ALL BLACK!!!!

no, they make do in some instances. eg. what if Iggies (yellow) play adelaide uni (black), what happens when the team playing adelaide uni have a keeper in a yellow shirt?
Happened at the Allstars v Navarino this year. Allstars wore orange, their keeper had a yellow kit. Referee insisted the keeper change shirt because yellow was too close to orange as far as he was concerned.
Yet for some reason the Navarino keeper was allowed to play in orange.

Black and white stripes and navy blue, do they get too close to the black ref strip?
As for Adelaide Uni Blacks, they have 7 teams in the SAASL (possibly more next year if what I was told is true), 4 teams in the Collegiate league, 2 masters team, 3 womens teams and about 5 or 6 junior girls teams. Let's call it 21 teams at 15 field shirts per team, that's 315 shirts to be replaced. Depending on the cost of shirts, let's say $35 each, that will be over $11,000 to replace all their shirts.
Refs to wear fluro pink!
grimsby, notts co + newcastle have worn them for years without a problem.
No not all Adelaide Uni teams wear black, which is why I explicitly talked about Adelaide Uni Blacks, who do wear black and have mens, collegiate, women's, masters and juniors teams.

How many teams do they have that wear black?

We have had to change our team strip to incorporate our 2nd colour more predominately & this was not a bad thing. I also think that most teams out there would update their tops every 2-3 years - so it just means you have to do it earlier. If you cannot do it for all the teams you will still have your clash top which should be a different colour than black currently - so problem solved.
People just don't read posts fully or properly do they.
From what I have read and been told Adelaide Uni Blacks has about 21 teams, and I believe that there is Uni White, Grads Red, Grads Blue and a Grads Green. But these are all in the collegiate league.

How many of the 21 teams have to change kits next season - not all are in the amateur league and not all wear black shirts.

Im sick of Refs in all sports trying to become bigger than the game, they should suck it up and wear pink a colour that does not clash with anyone, the problem is the ref assoc. are from the 40s and still find it hard that women can vote let alone wear a colourful shirt.
I would like to set the record straight regarding the black kits (referees wearing the black colours for the amateur league).
It is incorrect that the FFA wants all the referees wearing a black uniform. Note that the "A" league has 3 colours - black, blue, yellow. The local FFSA referees have 3 new colours - red, blue, yellow. This will be the same colours for next year.
The amateur referees are the ones who want to wear black, do not want to change to any other colour and it is not the FFA or FFSA who have enforced this upon the clubs who are with this league and play soccer in SA. Any suggestions that it is any other body enforcing the amateur referees to stay with black is entirely FALSE. They make their own decisions as they are not part of the FFA referee body.
Why don't you ask that the amateur referees buy 1 new shirt for the new season that doesn't match an existing club colour eg orange (I have already seen a few referees wearing this colour previously and this doesn't seem to clash with any teams currently).
