Yeah, but the funny thing that you didn't know was, that was Northampton's reserves.Bomber wrote:So Liverpool reserves lost on penalties. Obviously an important fixture given their starting line up. Never heard of half those guys. Next!
Hardly a reserve team, I'd say 80-90% of the starting line-up would be first team squad players. Their inability to beat a League Two side is inexcuseable and says wonders about your depth and ability to compete over a long 38 game season. Quite simply Liverpool are screwed for the foreseeable future and I'm loving it.Bomber wrote:So Liverpool reserves lost on penalties. Obviously an important fixture given their starting line up. Enjoy it while you can but don't kid yourself - Man U are heading down the same path thanks to the Glazers.Big_Chief wrote: Quite simply Liverpool are screwed for the foreseeable future and I'm loving it.
You keep holding on to that glimmer of hope that we'll somehow end up as shambolic as that shower of shite while we carry on challenging for silverware season after season.Hosovac wrote:Enjoy it while you can but don't kid yourself - Man U are heading down the same path thanks to the Glazers.Big_Chief wrote: Quite simply Liverpool are screwed for the foreseeable future and I'm loving it.

Do I really need to mention the regular starters that are missing from that list? C'mon, no excuse for losing really, but a bit of perspective please. If Hodgson really wanted to win the game, he simply could have selected a few of his top guns and we wouldnt even be talking about this. End of.
If you'd seen his face you'd know he wanted to win alright. Love to be a fly on that dressing room wall, I bet he gave them plenty.Bomber wrote:If Hodgson really wanted to win the game, he simply could have selected a few of his top guns and we wouldnt even be talking about this. End of.
Well, if he really wanted to win that game, he should be sacked for poor team selection!Nice One Cyril wrote:If you'd seen his face you'd know he wanted to win alright. shiraz me, this is funny.
Unfortunately I agree.Hosovac wrote:Enjoy it while you can but don't kid yourself - Man U are heading down the same path thanks to the Glazers.Big_Chief wrote: Quite simply Liverpool are screwed for the foreseeable future and I'm loving it.
Penny for his thoughts.Nice One Cyril wrote:Yeah, he didn't want to win it.
I had this nice little job by the River. Free Harrods card, use of the Chairman's yacht, players that were up for it...........Big_Chief wrote:Penny for his thoughts.Nice One Cyril wrote:Yeah, he didn't want to win it.
Probably something along the lines of WTF have I gotten myself into??
Yes, Liverpool are really escaping derision.Big_Chief wrote:I know who played Bomber and please tell me which of those would not be considered part of the first team squad. United played a similar outfit against Rangers in the CL and were panned for drawing 0-0. Why would Liverpool escape derision and criticism for losing to a league two side? Keep your head buried in the sand mate.

Just because they aren't in the first XI, doesn't mean they aren't first team players. Some of the players that played would probably earn more than the entire Northampton Town team. You're 16th in the league (early doors I know) and just been bundled out of the Carling Cup by a league two side FFS and you couldn't seem to give two hoots. Either you don't care all that much as it isn't Croydon, or you believe that Liverpool will still have a worthwile season and be challenging for Europe. Either way the head in sand comment remains.Bomber wrote:Yes, Liverpool are really escaping derision.Big_Chief wrote:I know who played Bomber and please tell me which of those would not be considered part of the first team squad. Where is Reina, Carragher, Gerrard, Torres, Skrtel, Johnson, Cole, Raul, Maxi (ok, no biggie there), Poulsen, Konchesky............?? There's eleven = entire team.
I know who has their head buried, not necessarily in sand though.............
Please yourself. End of the day your opinion to me counts for as much as the Carling Cup itself. It's September ffs and yes, I dont live and breathe a team thats on the other side of the globe. Look up "perspective" in the dictionary and revisit the context of what this is all about. You may surprise yourself.Big_Chief wrote:Just because they aren't in the first XI, doesn't mean they aren't first team players.
