WHAT A YEAR!

Post by KING NUGGETT »

2010 is certainly shaping up to be a huge year for PARAFIELD GARDENS S.C

Not only have the GARDENS won the SAASL Sun. Div.1 CHAMPIONSHIP & made the CHALLENGE CUP FINAL.
Our E&D Under 15 Div.1, Under 14 Div.1, Under 13 Div.1, are all LEAGUE CHAMPIONS & CUP FINALISTS...
Yesterday also saw our Womans Team crowned LEAGUE CHAMPIONS & will play in the CUP FINAL next Sunday...

All in all the future looks very bright at the GARDENS!
CONGRATULATIONS & A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL INVOLVED FROM ALL THE GARDENS FAITHFULL

So join the FFSA and do what Metrostars have done.

Until then we're all small fry.

BUT great effort this season.

I thought you guys had won the Ressies until your keeper told me you hadn't. Cracking year though for the East boys. The ressies were unlucky not to get through yesterday Gabon. Just couldn't score that goal.

Your O35's will win the final easily.

A 1st and Challenge Cup Quarter Final and promotion to Division 1
B 2nd and Reserve Cup Quarter Final
C 1st (probably) and promotion to Division 3
D 1st (undefeated and back-to-back)
E 2nd
F 8th (in same league as D Grade)

Quarter Finals in both Cups. Top goalscorer in three leagues (B/C/D) and second top scorer in the other two (A/E). Hopefully a couple of Player of the Year medals as well.

Not bad for a backyarder team (thank Cougars' supporters for that one) in Saturday Div 2.

Ingle Farm had a great year too, with 3 players getting their first ever Shanghai, and 2 of them going on to record their second ever Shanghai.

Nick Filipou also hit the board twice and Mike Vasselli managed to make three people bleed. Anto lasted a career high three rounds and was a killer for 1 out of the three. Not to mention Vista09 beating ROBBO twice :D

i don't think Mr X and the Roo had much to do with it, i think Chris Air having the game of his life was all that stopped us

Don't want to rain on your parade nugget but your E&D Under 13 Title was Div 3 wasn't it, just for accuracy let the record show that Elizabeth Downs won the Under 13 Div 1 , but still a great year.

Still as I said great year and the club must be so proud , good on ya ...

In fact I think PG won the same number of DIV 1 E&D titles as the biggest club in the State ... congrats to all...

We have no aspirations to be a Super League Club so why would you consider going on the federation merry go around we are part of a fantastic league.

As nugget stated regardless of the results of the next 2 weeks this has been one of the most successful years for the club with both juniors & seniors and well done to everyone involved.

Its great to see our teams at Gardens winning leagues & playing in cup finals but thats not we are all about because as a club the trophy you really want to win is the best sporting club in E&D which we have done the last 2 years in a row & hope to be the first to win it 3 times.
