Gully v East C's

Post by closed account »

was fun playing the c grade game tonight under lights, should be more c's under lights on friday nights so we dont have to get up early after being oot on the lash on saterday night lol.
was an entertaining game against half of the easties A grade players.
although we had a few of our b grade & an A grade player playing.
3-3 was the result, we the gully were 3-1 up with 20 to go but just couldnt hang on.

Hahaha. Please enlighten me? We only had two players that only played 1/2 the season in the first team and that was all I thought?

I think this sews up the title for our boys doesnt it?!!!

well there was at least 3 from the promotion decider that i noticed, miller, moggie and the a guy who played at the back, but dosent make any difference to us, we had nothing to play for and enjoyed the good battle that it was.

Was a well fought game, made us work bloody hard for it and i didnt think the equaliser was going to come. We had three guys from the first team filling in only because our regular guys were tied up with the reserves in the cup semi on Sunday. Thanks for rearranging the fixture though its much appreciated as everyone wanted to get along to hindmarsh sunday to support our ressies (shame about their result :( ). And again thanks for making us sweat till the end and making it a rather nervous game to play in, just glad we got the point needed to wrap it up.

Completely agree mate, it turned out to be a great game. We went 2-0 up halfway through the first half but Easties managed to get it back to 2-1 by half time. We we're then able to score from a counter attack midway through the second half to make it 3-1 but when you guys got it back to 3-2 through a own goal of a corner we knew we had to attack more & try to score a 4th. We thought we did score the 4th but it was deemed "offside" & from there we really struggled to hold you guys off. Unfortunately we couldn't do it and they equalized with almost the last kick of the game. We we're pretty happy to get a draw with you boys but when your leading by 2 goals on 2 separate occasions you hope you can close out the game. Unfortunately though we couldn't do it but congrats to Easties, well earned point in a cracker of a game. The fans loved it & said it was a great game as well.
