I think to Plymptons credit they would have played the game.
However due to last weekends rain it meant they would have to wait 2 weeks to play the game.
That would be far to long to expect players to wait for a game that essentially means nothing to them.
How do you force a team to play. What sort of team would be fielded if that was the case

I doubt it. Whether we finish 3rd or 4th is no big deal - at the end of the day, we can not finish second and therefore automatic promotion is out.

Seriously, says a lot about a club that doesn't fulfill their commitment to the competition. I am not going to be 'holier than thou' over this, because we benefited in 2001 (or 2002?) from Seaford forfeiting the week after the season finished and handing us promotion over Post Tel.

However, I still think it is garbage that lower division teams have League games scheduled on a Cup weekend.

Second of all, I reckon Beograd would have smashed Plympton so there is no argument there - but the game should have been played anyway. There is also a good chance Beograd will defeat us on the weekend, they are definitely the form side of the competition.

Maybe - our preference is to always play on the main pitch, the choice may be out of hands though.

Blue Eagles will have more to play for in this match with Beograd using it as a warm up to the tournament in Melb during the October long weekend.
The small pitch will probably suit the home side as well but every second game for us has been on a small pitch so I dont think it will make too much difference.

After speaking to a couple of lads at indoor tonight, there was disapointment among us about the forfeit by the club. We don't even know who came up with decision, we could of fielded 11 players for sure, whether it was our strongest side would have a different question.

Official... after al the wahh wahh that went on. Beograd made it more oficial (and beyond doubt) they are worthy to go up to Div II by beating 3rd place Blue Eagles.

There is now no doubt we are worthy of the 2nd spot and a Div II place.

Well played boys... even being 2-0 down after 15 minutes, the better team won on the day showing resiliance and heart to take the win 3-2.

I think it was a very even game, and was only settled with an absolute bomb with about ten to go. The game was played in good spirits.

I don't think anyone doubted Beograd were deservedly promoted, but I am sure you wouldn't have wanted to be promoted on a forfeit.
