Congrats to the Beograd Boys. Managed to knock 11 past us this season over 2 games. What a bunch of soft coçks.
Just as bad, if not worse, was last season when Western Strikers amassed enough points to win the league, they didnt bother playing their last couple games, handing easy forfeit wins to teams that most likely would have lost, thus effectively "manipulating" final table and the second promotion spot.Knight7 wrote:Well done to Beograd - however very suprised with Plympton, if the same thing happened to us, I would be disgusted if our team didn't play a catch up game - especially if others were relying on the result
Well deduct points then. Why this doesnt happen more often amazes me. It sure would make some teams curb their attitudes to certain issues whether it be fighting, or treating the league with contempt (ie not showing up for games etc).BeogradGeneralsC's wrote:IMO fining teams heavily i not really a solution. there are wose things that happen (when reading posts on this forum) that dont get fines nor do get any form of reprimand.
Its the choice of the team, so be it.
Bet you'd feel differently if a forfeited game resulted in Beograd not getting promoted...BeogradGeneralsC's wrote:IMO fining teams heavily i not really a solution. there are wose things that happen (when reading posts on this forum) that dont get fines nor do get any form of reprimand.

I agree with this point and what Western strikers did was unfair to some clubs, as they where too good for anyone in that division, so it was the clubs that had them late in the round advantage. Pherhaps not teams fault here, so fining, not sure you would get the result your after, all teams at end of season know what they must do in order to get a result, hence an unfair advantage.Bomber wrote: Just as bad, if not worse, was last season when Western Strikers amassed enough points to win the league, they didnt bother playing their last couple games, handing easy forfeit wins to teams that most likely would have lost, thus effectively "manipulating" final table and the second promotion spot.
Clubs that deliberately dont play catch up games should be fined heavily (and/or maybe even deducted points for the following season).
Its out of my control if they decide to forfeit.Blotto wrote:Bet you'd feel differently if a forfeited game resulted in Beograd not getting promoted...BeogradGeneralsC's wrote:IMO fining teams heavily i not really a solution. there are wose things that happen (when reading posts on this forum) that dont get fines nor do get any form of reprimand.

I'm with Bomber.. teams need to be fined/docked points the following season.
agree 100% it needs to be done before the next league match. if you put yourselves in a position where you are relying on other teams results to survive or be promoted it is always risky.Power04 wrote:Well done Beograd! I am still adamant, that if a game is postponed during the regular league season, it should be forced to be played before the next league game, witht the responsibility falling on the two clubs involved to organise, otherwise, neither get the points (except where the league deems circumstances beyond either teams control) and with the availability of grounds falling on the league only. This to me has always been a glitch in the reasonably well run SAASL competition. I also think that a change to the current laws for the amateur competition, should have "any team forfeiting a game, that could affect promotion and/or relegation should answer to the league, with the possibility of all points deducted from them"
i hope u can back up that talk pep!!!pep wrote:I propose that the Cs derby is played as a curtain raiser for one of Adelaide United home games. Family members and close friends don't exist when the game starts. Everyone wearing that red shirt on the night better be prepared for anything.
well great, take a further 6 points off plympton. they are already relegated.Kariolis wrote:Forget the fines, that doesn't hurt some clubs.
A 6 point deduction would be worth a lot more for a team that forfeits.
power04, EVERY game effectes promotion and or relegation. so ur saying some games dont???? u cant just pick and choose 'the more important ones'.. with the possibility of all points being deducted?. come on, be serious. as it stands if u do forfeit, u still do answer to the league in the way of a fine. if u continue to forfeit successive games u r kicked out of the league. it happened to hazara this yearPower04 wrote:Well done Beograd! Or we could get u pep aka cambiasso to wear a red shirt again. There may be some movements should rumours about an over 35s team actually come to fruition next seasonpep wrote:It's too early to sign players at this stage, because I don't know which player/s from Frank Mitchell Park will be coming to Vikings, but I will be knocking on your door for your services next year. For St Didacus, I think he means deduct the points for the following season. No-one would like that!Kariolis wrote:Forget the fines, that doesn't hurt some clubs.

agree its pisses me off no end, i've been involved in forfeits at our club during cup matches and even that annoys me, we are here to play football remember.....Bomber wrote:Just as bad, if not worse, was last season when Western Strikers amassed enough points to win the league, they didnt bother playing their last couple games, handing easy forfeit wins to teams that most likely would have lost, thus effectively "manipulating" final table and the second promotion spot.Knight7 wrote:Well done to Beograd - however very suprised with Plympton, if the same thing happened to us, I would be disgusted if our team didn't play a catch up game - especially if others were relying on the result

Pherhaps I didn't say it right. I agree with you absolutely that every game counts for relegation/promotion, hence why it should forced to be played before the next league game. Yes the important ones, should be treated differently.StDidacus wrote: power04, EVERY game effectes promotion and or relegation. so ur saying some games dont???? u cant just pick and choose 'the more important ones'.. with the possibility of all points being deducted?. come on, be serious. as it stands if u do forfeit, u still do answer to the league in the way of a fine. if u continue to forfeit successive games u r kicked out of the league. it happened to hazara this year
