RIP - Macedonia cricket pitch

For those of you who have made an issue of our beloved concrete cricket pitch, Rejoice it will be removed soon and replaced with a turf pitch.

now just get rid of your reserves club ref and teams may actually like going to your ground... :lol: :wink:

what does that mean for the cricket club?
You go on the p*ss all day, you've ballooned out like the Pillsbury Doughboy!
You could go to jail for this! What sort of system am I going to play then? Three across the middle and one in bloody Pentonville? *Mike Basset*

haha, gold.......i only ask cos i play agains them for cricket and if they are changing to Turf, this would mean they are changing leagues

big difference turf to concrete pitches...uneven bounce cant play on it when raining, when I coached golden grove cricket club a few years ago and we won the flag, they decided to change grounds and go turf, they have struggled with this change.....good luck though

So many memories of that pitch... i scored 6 goals in a game on that pitch...

so instead of a sand pitch we will get a fricken chewed up cricket pitch in winter with football being played constantly there...

brahma lodge CC off to adelaide turf??

was told proposal was put to council but yet to be ratified, council waiting on ongoing maintenance costs etc, as well development costs as to whether $$$ worth it.

also new improved mat(better than the one used there a few years ago), also being trialled at other locations and brahma oval could be on that list also

AHH... Brahma Lodge CC have appar. recieved a reasonably large grant to replace the pitch for NEXT season but will be playing on a concrete pitch this season atleast...

sounds to me like some wouldnt be happy if they played on hindmarsh stadium grade pitches....would still find something to complain about.....

it wouldnt be a problem if u didnt share with a football club .. a chewed up cricket pitch after 2 maybe 3 games of football Saturday then soccer the day after
