Can't believe you're that young REAL one. Last time I saw you play was about three years ago and you couldn't get out of the centre circle. :P Having said that, I guess you didn't really need to- you were still able to do enough damage from there.

goals per game scored:8.9
scored over 100 goals that season.

Beat Unley high at Galaxy's home ground for the SA title 4-1.
so true pep... also up 25-0 against st pauls with 15 mins to go and the ref calls the game off saying that enough embarassing the other team

If my memory serves me right St Michaels also won the final in 1992.
The semis and final was also played at Galaxys ground on the same day.
The schools were Christies Beach, St Michaels, Charles Campbell and i think the other one was Craigmore.
St Michaels beat Christies 1-0 in one semi and Charles Campbell beat Craigmore.
I believe St Michaels won the final 4-1 against Charles Campbell
I played for Christies at centre back and remember the St Michaels forwards being an absolute nightmare to defend against, but it was a close game and could have gone either way from memory.

Had some great days playing for St. Mick's. so enjoyable rocking up sat. mornings at 830 am half asleep after running mucks the night b4 with fellow team mates ha. i still remember one day rocking up to play and accidently pulling out my mums slipper from my soccer bag mistaking it for a shinpad when i must have packed my bag half knackered at 815 in the morning ! what a laugh that was. The beauty of that team was as soon as we stepped out to play everyone knew how to play and gelled instantly, and even when we were slack and got behind, it wasnt long b4 we would step up the extra gear necessary to kill teams off.

Great memories of winning the 1995 State Champs knocking off two very strong schools in Norwood Morialta and Unley High respectively in semis and final. In the semis we beat Norwood on an incredible penalty shootout something like 12-10. Prob my most enjoyable year ever playing the game ...

Going to St Michael's was there a rule that you could not play for a club if you did not play for the school? If so, was it enforced and how did the players go backing up for their fed clubs in the afternoon?

I'm sure most of the team would have been playing u23s or first team while they were in yr 12- surely that would have been taxing.

I'd say 5 minutes... and it was me that called it full time, not the ref!

St. Paul's enforced that rule with footy, not soccer, ( coz Warkie didn't give a toss) hence the 93 team being an absolute shambles and full of Hong Konganese exchange students and halfwits while Pirone, Caputo etc. stayed fresh for their clubs, compared to the 92 team where we were a half decent side. But yes. St. Michael's were always the yardstick for sure.

True, played for Ad City State league side at the time. Could not play for club unless the school commitments were fulfilled. That could explain a bit for the success of the side. Also, I do remember playing Michael Pirone when played St. Pauls. He did nothing for his school team because he never got the ball. The rest of the players in his side were average.

Year after year, taking out the statewide high school knock out competitions..... why is it that every private school has either a side in the collegiate league or SAASL, though St. Michaels have never come together to field an amatuer side of any nature??? I know of a lot of ex students that come on the forum.... any opinions/ reasons??
Basically because the head sports guy rarely does his job properly (i.e. hardly there to organise teams for weekend, tell people where they're playing, relay messages from other teams etc).

Don't get me wrong, top, top bloke, just useless in his position imvho.

That said, the fact he plays Magpies reserves might have something to do with his lack of presence.

Be jaysus. It's a small fecking world.

I was there from 95-03, then went to SMC from 04-08. Still am involved with the new school, "Nazareth"

I am assuming you're talking about the school, though, not some club with the same initials?

Was at OLM from 94 to 2000 then CBC from 01 to 05. Runners up to Rostrevor in the State Final in 2005. St Michael's went down heavily (6-0 I think) to Rostrevor in one Semi after Margaritis was sent off. We won 1-0 over a Joe Bonafazi led St Peter's team.

Made the final vs Rostrevor and after many a miss from our striker at the time (you'd know him very well 5CT), we ended up getting trounced 4-1. Said striker missed 3 one-on-ones in the first 15 minutes but hey, that's football.

Remembered the public schools had a very poor showing that year. Traditionally strong teams like Norwood Morialta, Glenunga etc barrelled out early on, but then again, we were never shown any sort of table until we were told that we had made the quarter-finals.

no offence against Glenunga.....but referring to them as a 'traditionally strong' soccer school makes you the :clown: !!

having said that, we'll see how they go against AHS.....

So who is going to start up a Amish team again. I have about 10-15 players ready to go! Just name the place and time! I would recommend it being in the Saturday league so as to not conflict with Fulham and Vikings.
