11:15am
Spoken to a few down at the Raptors about getting a team together but a few are concerned about what time kick off would be on a Saturday (if the comp gets up & going). With a lot of over 35's having families, school sport is played Saturday mornings. If the kick off time is at 11:15am Saturday morning I think we might find it a little hard to get a full team together.

Same for OISC. I will email all the interested clubs in the coming week about this (potentially tonight as I have some spare time) so we can get something to the SAASL before the end of the season. If you are a club rep or think your club would be interested or would like to be privy to the discussion because you are an 'Over 35' player, please PM me and I will include you on the email list.

I remember playing for Shamrock Rovers when they introduced an O/35's team and thinking that's miles away and the next moment it's "shít, I qualify!!!". Time creeps up on you.

I know Iggies have thought about it and could probably get one together.
You can count Hahndorf in on this one!! I think the league could get 10 teams next season no problem just to get this started.

worry about your div 4 side actually taking the field first!
Things I am owed because they're too tight to pay up:
Colossus: One House
Costa: One Lunch
Oh and add in
Colossus: one photo and one letter from his "attorney".

I am afraid I have to agree here, two years ago I took a C team / squad up to Hahndorf - we had to supply the Ref,and two linesman ? They couldve at least paid the ref something, and a free beer or 6 for running their line for them, particularly as their Seniors were at home straight after us.

The big problem with our Div 4 team is that they were told that they will be in Div 6 11.30am kick off. Then.... Div 4 3pm kick off happened
8 players who could play at 11.30 left the team due to shift work etc, so we was about to fold the team on the 1st game of the season and somehow we have struggled on. Things will be different next year for them and that's why the over 35's would be good for us.

Heard from an almost relable source that they now have over 20 players on their list, and are 90% confident of fielding an A+B team in division 4 Saturday league next year, hopefully kickoff time wont be an issue then.

Great news. SAASL may revert to an 8 team competition again, move Dragon Rangers, Brahma Lodge, and Hahndorf C2 to a one-team competition, and hopefully pick up two new teams to have a 10 team competition.

I watched them play about 5 or 6 weeks ago,and overheard the TV coach/official talking to the opposition coach/official. The TV guy made the comment that if his team have a good season, very confident they will attract even more people/players to the club.

1) No heat or at least better
2) keep the weekend for families
3) More time to socialise afterwards
I cant see a draw back, kick off at 7.30 so people can get home from work and out to the game.
Bring it on
Nail on the head Pilots. A much better option. My 2 kids are playing juniors on a Sunday morning which means I can't play Sunday Over 35's. Friday nights would be a great option to keep weekends free.
