U/13 STIC 2010
Why did all clubs have to select last years state players
for zone trials. Sounds a bit strange .

Have they? I don't think all have. The question should be asked of clubs; ask your club and then tell us.best wrote:Why did all clubs have to select last years state players

Re: U/13 STIC 2010
It's confusing, but I believe other than the State players that are going to Newcastle for the Veto Tournament which clashes with STIC, all the other State players have to attend.
I hear some clubs are giving everyone a chance by sending more than their quota, but that’s just what I’ve heard. If that’s the case just turn up and join in.

You must be nominated to attend STIC trials. Realistically many clubs send players that are not ready for that standard which clogs the selection process.harrycripps wrote:

U12s '99 born is 3.

Player nomination in the West includes the NWJSA, which have players that also play club soccer. FFSA Development Squad players have also been included. If you look at the paper work you'll see that each club has a max of 7 players and 1 keeper (NWJSA also have the 7 + 1), State players that are not traveling are also included (but some parents have decided not to come out).
Please stop the rumour mill, and instead make a few phone calls or email the FFSA with your questions, and we'll all help build the game in this State.
Re: U/13 STIC 2010
Not sure what you mean about the rumour mill JD, but looking at the West U13 there seems to be only the one player nominated via NWJSA and from the State Dev squad there is only the one (who is Newcastle bound).johnydep wrote:6 wrote:It is 7 (8 with a keeper)Zeljko Jurin wrote:Is it true that a club is sending out 10 players ??

All jokes and pokes aside, I know the kids are in good hands with you at the helm and will get a lot from it the competition.
Good luck.

Any updates on the trials?
This weekend a wash out for the east.
How did the west go today?
Any feedback on the north, south and country groups...numbers, quality etc?

North - been around 30 kids all up , but 19 to 22 each week
Some good quality, been happy with attitude and level of U12's , there are some girls not coming out with talent still.

Re: U/13 STIC 2010
U13 W boys; two trials so far both good turn out but about a dozen missing in action both sessions. A few away, injuries and some just not showing up.
I hope the STIC isn't being damaged from past talk and action of "poaching". My advice to parents and players is to stay where you feel comfortable and learn.
On another note; Good coaching session at Santos on Saturday.

Re: U/13 STIC 2010
good post JD, certainly looks like the system is being improved each year with education towards a development championships. Under 12 format looks good where it is about identification ahead of results. Will be good to watch how it develops

Does that mean there are 15 teams down South, seeing each club could only send out 7 players ??Nou Camp wrote:Washed out for south under 12, supposedly 100+ boys out their.

Unfortunetley , i think every zone has same problems. Northern Zone (Girls) has 15 clubs designated yet only 5 represented clubs , 3 of the 5 only a few.
Not sure if poaching or too much on with School state stuff and other Championships all happening similar times... maybe a earlier start to Stics training /preparation ?
as long as there is more than 16 to pick from

Well the seasons over soon...I know a few kids and parents are looking forward to a break. Maybe all this stuff should be earlier in the season?
Now I hear selected keepers have to go for a session with a certain academy coach...
one who has a habit of only picking kids from his own academy (I'm not the only one to notice this)

Each club could nominate 10 x U12s and an additional 3 x 1999 born who were also trialling for U12's.Zeljko Jurin wrote:Does that mean there are 15 teams down South, seeing each club could only send out 7 players ??Nou Camp wrote:Washed out for south under 12, supposedly 100+ boys out their.
Total of 13 from each club were entitled to trial in this age group.
I believe U12s wil have 2 teams from each zone this year.

I certainly can guarantee about the no's nominated! I know this for FACT
As far as 2 squads, this is what I was told by a friend who had his lad at U12 trials, he may have misunderstood but this is what he was told. that is why I said "I believe".

Correct, but it's only 7 x 1998, and 3 x 1999 isnt it ??? :?Big Mac wrote:Does that mean there are 15 teams down South, seeing each club could only send out 7 players ??Each club could nominate 10 x U12s and an additional 3 x 1999 born who were also trialling for U12's.

And no point sending 3 x 1999 if they are NOT up to standard, I know in another zone not every club sent out 3 x 1999's, maybe 1 or 2, maybe 0
You are saying you can send out 13, that's a WHOLE team ?????????????????????

Re: U/13 STIC 2010
(U12 only) Club coaches in cooperation with club officials are asked to submit a list of a maximum of;
• 10 players born 1998 (including up to 2 Goalkeepers)
• 3 players born 1999 (field players only)
o 1999 born players should be of an elite standard capable of playing at an U12 level.
These players will trial for places in 8 x U12 teams whom will compete at the championships. Further details regarding these squads will be provided at trials.

Re: U/13 STIC 2010
i think under certain circumstances where a club may have 3 or 4 teams in the same age there may be 4 players in each which are very good. Its very hard, as its about talent identification not club representation.
