Re: Cup results
One would think most teams would be hoping to draw hahndorf in the semi's, have done well to get this far but possibly have had the softest draw of all the teams to make it to hindmarsh. vista, knocked off at least 3 div 1 sides I think. Farm, if they have 1st team players available might just have that bit of extra class over the rest of the sides. East, were a descent side last year but haven't seen them this year. Will be tough.Outlaw 2.0 wrote:Well done to all teams making it this far so it's,

RESERVES
East 2 - 1 Iggies
Great to get a win over the Iggies side... Revenge is sweet!!! A really tough, fair game of football today. Credit to iggies who were well stuctured and hard to break down. I scored with a lovely ( ) neat finish inside 5 minutes. The game then hit a stalemate until iggies scored with one of their few chances and scored with an unmarked header on the far post. Then an early goal to... yours truely, within 5 minutes of the restart gave us the edge which we were never really in doubt of conceding.
If you ask Kitchmo I was certainly below the reserve grade standard, but managed to scored 2 jaggy goals!!!
Bring on Hindmarsh!!!!

Re: Cup results
thats what salisbury inter thought - that hahndorf were going to be a walk over. u can never underestimate teams in a cup.jogger wrote:One would think most teams would be hoping to draw hahndorf in the semi's, have done well to get this far but possibly have had the softest draw of all the teams to make it to hindmarsh. vista, knocked off at least 3 div 1 sides I think. Re: Cup results
Not suggesting they will be a walkover, but they are the lowest ranked side left in the draw. At this stage of the comp every game is going to be toughly fought, but you would always want the lowest ranked side as your opponent.Shrimper wrote:thats what salisbury inter thought - that hahndorf were going to be a walk over. u can never underestimate teams in a cup.jogger wrote:One would think most teams would be hoping to draw hahndorf in the semi's, have done well to get this far but possibly have had the softest draw of all the teams to make it to hindmarsh. vista, knocked off at least 3 div 1 sides I think. true that - but being the ressies u never know what players have or can be dropped from different teams - you would think the sat div 3 a teams would beat or be a close match for div 1 b. i dunno. when is the draw and is the games at hindmarsh?
Re: Cup results
Games definately at hindmarsh. Draw would more than likely take place probably a week or so before the games take place, but you never know with the SAASL.Shrimper wrote:true that - but being the ressies u never know what players have or can be dropped from different teams - you would think the sat div 3 a teams would beat or be a close match for div 1 b. i dunno. when is the draw and is the games at hindmarsh?

Great win for the boys today & look forward to the semis. Cup games are cup games & i was very impressed by Iggies today I think they will go along way in Sat Div 1 next year & can see why they got where they did. Thanks also to all the clubs that came down to watch today.

Re: Cup results
Thanks to Gardens for hosting us. A tough but fair game on the pitch, both teams had limited chances and you took yours well at the death (for neutrals their winner was 85" then a second shortly after as we pushed forward). Good luck in the semis and rest of the league.lefty wrote:Great win for the boys today & look forward to the semis. Re: Cup results
Farken intense game to be involved in, clubs have to earn the right to play at that level (it's a shame we don't play at that level every week) and I wish all Saturday teams saw the intensity that the game was played at so we could try and replicate it every week. Referee lost a bit of control with the 'afters' from the free kicks, should have been a few more cards both ways for mine. Interesting decision for the free kick that led to the Ebomo goal in the mid-80s too. Third goal was scored after we were pushing forward at the start of injury time, took a deflection and lobbed over the keeper We wasted some great chances in the second half to make it 2-1 for us Great crowd on the sideline too.Mato wrote:Thanks to Gardens for hosting us. Reserve Cup
Fulham United ( 0 ) Ingle Farm ( 2 )
Joseph Tasovac 2
A fairly sedate game that was settled by 2 goals from Jo Tasovac.
The first from a free kick in the first half and the second a few minutes from full-time.
Challenge Cup
Beograd ( 0 ) Elizabeth Downs ( 5 )
Tom Radford, Chris Walton, Adam Mallia, Michael Cartwright, Michael Barnard
Took about 20 minutes for Elizabeth Downs to break down Beograd and take the lead.
Downs stretched their lead to 0-2 when Michael Cartwright sent a 20 metre free kick into the roof of Beograd's net.
Next Adam Mallia was on the end of a great through ball and nutmegged the hapless Beograd keeper to make it 0-3.
Downs stretched their lead to 0-4 when Michael "Pommy" Walton headed in from a Tom Radford corner.
The Downs didn't regain their stride in the second half but managed several chances only to be denied by a desperate efforts from the Beograd keeper.
Late in the second half Michael Barnard challenged a Beograd clearance and saw the deflection rebound into the Beograd goal to make it 0-5.

I'm still cut about this, haven't felt this bad since losing the Div 8 league last year. All credit to Vista though, they played to their strengths and despite our total domination for the first 25 minutes which saw us go a goal ahead, they had the majority of the play after that.giggseleven wrote:Vista reserves vs florina Vista won 3-1
We had our chances but all in all, Vista probably deserved it. On another day it could have been 3-1 our way but it wasn't to be.
Good luck in the Cup to Vista, they are a good bunch of lads.
Was interesting though to see which teams they are planning "revenge" against in the league - i don't know if it was deliberate or not but they had a sign up in the away change rooms with 4 teams from Div 2 they wanted "revenge" against.
