Saturday Div 1 Relegation
I just looked at the Sat Div 1 table. WOW. Unbelievably tight at the bottom. Any of the bottom 5 teams could still go down, and even up to the bottom 8 teams if results don't go there way (for 3rd-5th) for a few weeks in a row.
For the teams and spectators of that division, who are your tips for the two teams that will ultimately come down?
Have St Peters and Wanderers been short of players this year, dropped their standard, or have the others been generally good?

Way too close to callKitchimo wrote: For the teams and spectators of that division, who are your tips for the two teams that will ultimately come down?
Re: Saturday Div 1 Relegation
Agreed. Results can (and are) going every which way. I think it will go down to the last weekend, and whoever gets dropped will probably count themselves as a little unlucky.
I noticed the Sun Prems are looking close at the bottom too...

Re: Saturday Div 1 Relegation
So there's been no team that has been basically pulling results from their rear? Everyone is around a similar level (aside from the top 2)?
Re: Saturday Div 1 Relegation
That's not a question you can answer on these forums without getting lynched by some indignant forumites. The assy results are still there, but a whole season doesn't lie.Kitchimo wrote:So there's been no team that has been basically pulling results from their rear? Re: Saturday Div 1 Relegation
I would say the league is as competitive as I have ever seen it.
Form really counts for nothing as you can get any result on the day.
Whoever gets relegated can probably count themselves as unlucky as there have been far and away worse sides that have stayed up comfortably in the past.

Re: Saturday Div 1 Relegation
i heard that saints lost a few players when their coach left. He was the reason that certain people crossed from sundays to saturdays and when he packed his bags, so did they.Kitchimo wrote:Have St Peters and Wanderers been short of players this year, dropped their standard, or have the others been generally good?
Well that's what I heard anyway.
Things I am owed because they're too tight to pay up:
Colossus: One House
Costa: One Lunch
Oh and add in
Colossus: one photo and one letter from his "attorney".

correct!
he moved to Uni, and a few players left with him.
Saying that, Saints can still cause trouble to many teams including BOSA and A.Villa.
In saying that, all the teams from bottom placed to top can have strange results and I believe relegation could be determined on the last round!

That is always a possibility.El Diego wrote:I believe relegation could be determined on the last round!

Now it's just ridiculous. Bottom 4 teams all on 14 points and 6th placed team on 15 points.

3rd to 10th all in the relegation zone.Kitchimo wrote:Now it's just ridiculous. Bottom 4 teams all on 14 points and 6th placed team on 15 points.
Crazy.

after watching the wanderers and vipers game I must say was impressed with the fightback vipers turned on, maybe injuries might be the telling factor for relegation

Re: Saturday Div 1 Relegation
Crazy season.....very tight at both ends and impossible to predict. I think not having you're best available players will determine staying up or going down so luck could have a lot to do with it. We have to play every side involved in that battle with us battling to stay ahead of BOSA....so I can't see any easy games in the coming weeks....My only prediction is I think Vipers will stay up..John Cena wrote:after watching the wanderers and vipers game I must say was impressed with the fightback vipers turned on, maybe injuries might be the telling factor for relegation

Re: Saturday Div 1 Relegation
even if they are only on amatuer contracts that cease at their season end, didnt think a transfer window etc applied to these players particularly if they come from another competition

Indeed it does.Kitchimo wrote:Vipers v Wanderers becomes a ridiculously crucial match this weekend.
However, nothing stopping the losing team from staying up, all they need to do is win 3 straight.
But in theory should be decided next round.
Our boys just need to have a hard look at how hard we worked to get where we're at and put in all they've got for the next 4 games.
If not

A Villa should account for Uni.
