Noticed at Collins Reserve yesterday that on adjoining pitch, two ambulances required at the womens game. Everything ok? What happened?

Prems - Fulham v Sturt game was originally a bye for Fulham and they requested a postponement which was approved the same as for other prems games.

One of the Sturt girls broke her ankle during the game. I didn't see the incident, but apparently it just happened while she was running, whether she fell on it awkwardly or something I don't know...

Ref ended up calling off the game with about 10 minutes to go. Sturt were down to 8 players I think, after their bench had been exhausted. Not a good way to win the game... Hope the injured girls are all OK.

Apparently they have 2 players on holidays and are trying to avoid all games until they are back!

Fulham have over the years accomodated other clubs in delaying games. Maybe they deserve a break go their way. One of these girls represented Croatia Australia in a tournament in Croatia which I believe they won. Fulham have played a number of games with 3 players away. A number of young ones have been given valuable game time and this is a good thing for the club and womens football overall.

Yeah I agree beaches...I didn't mean bad about Fulham.
Fulham is a big club and they are very strong.
But personally I don't see the reason for postponing games if your players are on holidays
Also other clubs accommodate others in delaying games, look at the league this year!
Also other clubs have played with players away, more than 3 actually, so nothing strange there. Only Sturt would ask for postponements for something like that  (jokes)
And also other clubs play with many youngsters (look at Cumby, A.City and Sturt!) and also there nothing strange.
So basically Fulham say they can't play games because they miss 3 players? What about the reserves? Hey, if FFSA let them postpone games for holiday reasons...well good for Fulham, but really don't come and tell us that it's the right thing to do!

we've been over postponing games before on this forum but...
38. Inability to Field a Team
38.1 If a club is unable to field a team because of illness or other reasons beyond its
control, the club may request a postponement of the match. The request must be
submitted to FFSA in writing detailing the reasons.
38.2 If FFSA approves the postponement of the match, the match shall be played in
accordance with the rules governing Postponement of Matches.
38.3 If a club is unable to field a team for a competition fixture and a request for a
postponement is not submit, the team will forfeit the game and be fined in accordance
with the FFSA Fine Schedule.
38.4 If a club fields more than one team in the open age divisions and is unable to field
a team for a competition fixture, the club must forfeit their lowest open age division
team and field a team in the higher division
.
seeing as there has been so many games postponed in the prems this season, with all of those teams having a reserve grade, maybe FFSA should just remove this if they're just going to ignore it.

The change in draw (Fulham having a bye under the old draw) was not accounted for. Super Trooper has hit the nail on the head.
Fulham have played all other games (whilst girls were/are away).
Also these girls had booked their trips taking into account that there would be no games while the state teams were away, this changed as well.
Girls are passionate about their football, but also they have/need to keep some balance in their life. Football is now a 12 months committment for some.
I know of girls who have been consumed totally by football, and in the end have given the game away because they had no balance in their life.
There are unusual circumstances in play here, but overall I do not condone the postponement of games. Unfortunately precedents have been set over the past few years.

We (E/Downs) had 5 players and our coach away on holidays and applied to ffsa for a postponement. FFSA refused the request because “our div 3 team could have been used to make up the shortfall”

So our div 3 team which sits bottom, was expected to play their game and then half of that team was to play in the “Elite div 1 team” and then to expect some sort of reasonable game………. The game was recorded as a forfeit.

So the other option was to forfeit the div 3 game and field our div 1 team……yadda yadda……as described above.

In this weeks fixtures list div 1 team Flinders Flames v Adelaide Hill has been postponed………why ?

My bitch is not against the clubs but ffsa, as I don’t see a problem with p/p games. Clubs can negotiate themselves and if both clubs agree then it’s not an issue. However if a club does think that it’s being disadvantaged then ofcourse let ffsa make the judgement call.
