Re: Saturday Division 4B - Hazara
Looking at it from another view point, should we be trying to help them maybe ? I only know what i read hear about them, and there would be some people in their club who are trying to do the right thing. This sort of thing ususally occurs when everything is left up to one or two people to do everything. Committment is the same the whole world over, you commit to a competition, you turn up - if not,you notify people, i agree , that out of courtesy someone at the club couldve at least rang the league,if not the opposition.
Should someone from the SAASL tryand contact them, see what the issue is encourage them to keep going,in the A's at least ?

Re: Saturday Division 4B - Hazara
Hazara have now forfeited their last two 4A matches and their last four 4B matches.
I will be pushing for the SAASL to remove them from both competitions even though it is disadvantageous for our 4A side (they lose their lead at the top of the table as RBE only drew with Hazara) as it affects the integrity of the competition if some teams get to benefit from mass forfeits whilst others do not.

They should of already been out weeks and weeks ago. The fact that the SAASL allows this sitaution to fester is appaling. This thread alone is weeks old.danzo wrote:Get them out. It is just embarrassing.

Agreed... Hazara just have to go. they are in breach of SAASL codes of conduct and the terms that govern having an Amateur club
Re: Saturday Division 4B - Hazara
I don't want to start any rumours, but I suspect that SAASL know whats going on. More than that I would guess that there is some tie up with funding opportunities that keeps them in the competition. Hence why SAASL was holding there hand earlier in the season. The General wrote:Looking at it from another view point, should we be trying to help them maybe ? did they play a full round of matches ? would be easier just to award everyone a forfeit in the second round, rather then go back and try and work out all the figures for the first round ?Kitchimo wrote:Hazara have now forfeited their last two 4A matches and their last four 4B matches.

In 4B they played everyone once except for Flinders (2).The General wrote:did they play a full round of matches ? would be easier just to award everyone a forfeit in the second round, rather then go back and try and work out all the figures for the first round ?Kitchimo wrote:Hazara have now forfeited their last two 4A matches and their last four 4B matches.

In 4A they've only had 2 forfeits, played everyone once and one team twice.

But some people played them at home and others away. Given the bias of their home ref, ALL matches should be annulled. The General wrote:did they play a full round of matches ? would be easier just to award everyone a forfeit in the second round, rather then go back and try and work out all the figures for the first round ?Kitchimo wrote:Hazara have now forfeited their last two 4A matches and their last four 4B matches.

That's a fair point, never thought of that- so you saying just wipe out all their scores altogether ( just asking the question )? has it ever happened before ?danzo wrote:But some people played them at home and others away. @ Hawksey, yes you are switched on I see.
Re: Saturday Division 4B - Hazara
Official confirmation received from the SAASL today, Hazara have been removed from both competitions and all results expunged.
Means that there is a tie at the top of Division 4A now between OISC (2) and RBE, and that there is a three point gap now between OISC (2) and Flinders (2) in Division 4B.

Re: Saturday Division 4B - Hazara
I hate it when this happens as there is no fair way to adjust the league tables!! Teams who lost or drew with Hazara now get an advantage and those who did get to play them and win are disadvantged. What other way you could do it to keep it fair is beyond me though as to award forfeits for the remainder of the season doesn't realy seem overly fair either as there would be teams that would have gained two sets of points over Hazara with out ever playing them!! The other factor to this now is also the hole it will make in the schedule which already suffers byes in the reservers anyway.

I didn't say I liked it either (I don't like it when teams forfiet either) but there is no alternative. In an ideal world teams would play all their matches.gooner4life wrote:Only to a point? Re: Saturday Division 4B - Hazara
There is an interesting situation developing in Div 4A, with Flinders (2) in the hunt for promotion and the title - Flinders (in Division 3) appear to be just that little bit behind the top few teams and will not get promoted, meaning that if Flinders (2) finish in the top two, whoever finishes third will be promoted.

Wiping out all results is stupid. They played a full half season, every team once. All those results should count. Second half of season should be zero points or 3 points for all teams. Expunging all results means teams are affected, including title and promotion chances for some teams, all because 1 club coudnt get their sh!t together. Why should some teams benefit and other teams suffer. No team should be affected by this in any way. Poor decision

Re: Saturday Division 4B - Hazara
Would that be dependant on no teams in the higher divisions either dropping out, switching to Collegiate,or amalgamating ? Hasnt there been a team that finished 3rd / 4th, and still got promoted before ? I would think that all teams will want to finish as high as they can,and see what happens from there?Kitchimo wrote:There is an interesting situation developing in Div 4A, with Flinders (2) in the hunt for promotion and the title - Flinders (in Division 3) appear to be just that little bit behind the top few teams and will not get promoted, meaning that if Flinders (2) finish in the top two, whoever finishes third will be promoted.
