It will be interesting to see if any Div 6 teams stacked their teams last week being a cup round, as we play the same team this week.

There were only two games played, and the Comets team was certainly not stacked.

I am hoping we are past that kind of thing these days.
From what I have seen most clubs appear to be doing the fair thing in div 6 anyway. From what I saw in the Vipers vs Flinders game, without being disrespectful to any of the players, it looked like a competitive game played in good spirit, neither team looked like they had any ring-ins. Close game, 0-0 when I left.
Very windy though, last time i was here Torrens Valley only won 2- 0,both goals were scored very early in the first half with a gale wind behind them, and in the second half never threaten once. TV are well organised, but they are beatable,Flinders are competitive, they need a goalscorer,Vipers good all round team, nice blokes.

If anything I think Flinders would have been down some players due to school holidays...

We have only played 1 side that I think had a few extras so far this year...There are some very good sides in this div, like all divs.

Clubs only have two chances left to 'stack' their sides this season anyhow:

- the Cup Round on 7 August if there are any 'catchup' matches on that day.

- when Flinders (2) or Flinders (3) or OISC (2) or OISC (3) have a bye in Saturday Division 4B (although OISC (3) is actually our 'F' team because they were the last team we entered, after the season had started)

Yeah we are down some players but not just due to uni holidays, an absolute tonne of injuries is killing us.

This weekend we had to forfeit our Div 6 game so the Div 4 teams could use the players.

Match of the round, or maybe even match of the year, this weekend:
Iggies (E Grade) vs Torrens Valley rocking horses.

If TV win, the title is theirs, if Iggies win then they still need to rely on TV losing in the next 5 weeks. (and win everything else themselves)

Fantastic, we just beat TV for you. Now you have a title chance if you beat them too. You can thank us later. They were tough opponents and the old bald guy in the middle was quite a dirty player, but rev him up and he will get carded. The others were good fair players. It was one of the toughest games we have played in years, the pitch did not help. Would be great if we could get a Hawks Iggies show down in two weeks for the title. We were the first team this year to beat them, their heads are now low and Hawks, i know you can beat them. DO IT!!!!! (Because quite frankly this is the best chance we have for a title too!!!!)

You might also discover last season you beat a team 2-1 at home, but that team went on to win the title

Bodo, this is not last season......

Yes TV are still the best chance of the title, we still have to rely on them losing at some stage and given this years results that is unlikely but i am just trying to be optimistic. C'mon Hawks!!!!!

There's nothing wrong with optimism, but it's always nicer to have it in your own hands.

Flinders 0 Breakers 0
We probably had more chances than Flinders.
A good bunch of lads, the pitch was a bit heavy down one side but nice surface.
A very good and fair ref for Flinders, well done.

I thought it was a fair result and that the Breakers boys looked better than the position the table has them sitting. A clean well played game by both sides, nice way to start a day of home football for us.

You are correct Flinders are back in the league. I reckon they should reschedule the games during say Cup rounds but who knows with the league. I mean we only got told Thursday night and confirmed Friday that Flinders were back in.
Looking at the SAASL website's table it looks as Southern Breakers were awarded a win for the postoned match against Monarchs at Grange a few weeks back, and I heard they'll be awarded a win for that game against Flinders. I a way I can understand the latter, but has the SAASL notified Monarchs as to the other result?

We will do our best to beat them...that is IF we play them this Saturday...we are not happy with the 3pm kick off...can't say much more than that, my lips are sealed...

But...say we do beat TV...and we plan to do so...then for Iggies to win the league they will need to beat us in a couple of weeks and that will be a task in itself...

The reason I say that is that MAHawks and Iggies have a huge rivarly and I have been a part of this the last 8 years...so the problem is MAHawks beat Iggies, TV win league...I don't want that!...but can I be a part of a MAHawk team to lose to the Iggies so TV don't win the league??....hmm....so hard!!

And, it seems the B's will be decided between MAHawks and Iggies...so we need to give the Hawks the best start before the B game....

Yep we do like playing you guys and it is a healthy rivalry. I used to love that caravan you had out at your ground dishing out the "traditional" food, the away trip is always a pleasure.
The 3pm TV games are a killer, i was very disappionted when i found that out this year. We like to go out to the hills games, play soccer, and then head to a Hills pub for a schnitzel but you cant to that with TV this year. Other clubs have had to forfiet as their players can only play early etc...
I think you guys can beat them too, they can get pretty physical so watch out.

I dont think it should matter which team it is,if they enter that division, they should play at the timeslot allocated to that division. the team F.O.B are only a one team club, they play Sunday C team,do they play their home games same time as everybody else ?

Having single teams there isn't really an issue but I think the kicks offs should be uniform unless two clubs mutually agree to move it.

Any club's first team is assigned to kick off at 3pm, unless an agreement is reached prior.

So why should Torrens Valley be penalized for only fielding one team?

It is Division 6 - not C Division.

We started off in Div 4 under similar circumstances, our home games were at 3pm and if teams had C's we played away at 11.30am.

Techinically division 6 is a C division. There is no reason why TV couldn't have been left in division four if they wanted their 3:00pm kickoffs.

Division 6 is known internally at the SAASL as Division 6C.

I think it is a crap time to kick off if there is only one game..

You can't make it to the seniors games if you want afterwards and because of the drive it makes it
hard to hang around for a beer and a feed.

I will say though the club itself is very friendly and accomodating off the pitch.
