Cheers Danzo, we have a lot of young lads that try every week and are playing good soccer/football and it would be nice to get a win on the board for their morale.danzo wrote:Well done to the breakers who went down to second placed Hawks 1-0. Those southern boys are going to get a win very soon.
Yes, was a good game by the Breakers, one of our toughest games although we were missing 6 of our better players. The Breakers dominated the second half in all three games but were very unlucky losing all of them...but 15 of our players paid our dues by staying overnight and spending quite a fortune on food and alcohol at Victor...cheers!Master Kong wrote:Cheers Danzo, we have a lot of young lads that try every week and are playing good soccer/football and it would be nice to get a win on the board for their morale.danzo wrote:Well done to the breakers who went down to second placed Hawks 1-0. Ttile could be won by then. It was last seasonmondy wrote:But...lets hope the Breakers hit top form when they play Torrens Valley in the last round clash...c'mon Beakers, do it for the Hawkies!!!
Iggies vs. Torrens Valley is the key match...if the Iggies can defeat TV then TV vs. Hawks could decide the championship...although if Iggies and the Hawks defeat TV then the title match will be Hawks vs. Iggies....that is IF the 3 teams win all remaining games....too many IF's but that's what makes it an interesting season...Bodø Glimt wrote:Ttile could be won by then. That's pretty poor.Kitchimo wrote:Breakers informed one of us at their ground that they intended to forfeit the last round match against Torrens Valley.
Did the Breakers give a reason?Kitchimo wrote:Breakers informed one of us at their ground that they intended to forfeit the last round match against Torrens Valley. Hopefully Comets can take points off of TV when they play them in consecutive weeks over the next fortnight.
Otherwise, I suggest that our E Grade and the MA Hawks C Grade beat them when they both play against them in a few weeks!
Couldn't they just postpone the game to a later date?danzo wrote:Their other teams might be fighting a relegation battle that day so they are going to go support them.
C'mon Breakers, go get some points off TV in the last match of the year.
If they postpone the game we would all go and support them!!!!!!! It would be huge. We could also offer to transfer some players for the week to ensure victory. lol.Token wrote:Couldn't they just postpone the game to a later date?danzo wrote:Their other teams might be fighting a relegation battle that day so they are going to go support them.

No, they should play it on the scheduled day or before the final round of matches.Token wrote:Couldn't they just postpone the game to a later date?danzo wrote:Their other teams might be fighting a relegation battle that day so they are going to go support them.

Thanks for those kind words Bodo, yes we "INTEND" playing the last game of the season against Torrens Valley.Bodø Glimt wrote:No, they should play it on the scheduled day or before the final round of matches.Token wrote:Couldn't they just postpone the game to a later date?danzo wrote:Their other teams might be fighting a relegation battle that day so they are going to go support them.

But in case you are unaware we are in a tight battle for relegation and both other games are at Pooraka, which we intended getting a bus for.
Also the Torrens Valley game is at 3pm too so we may just struggle for numbers, so that was the comment I believe was made.
We also struggle some weeks with numbers and have to play reserves in the C's due to injuries work committments etc, etc. which I am not making any complaints about but just stating the facts.
I suppose I could change clubs like you do (3 clubs in 2 seasons) but I am committed to my club and helping young players coming through.
Todays game versus Monarchs was postponed by them at 9am this morning, with the caller stating the pitch was unplayable, well we could only get messages to half the team in time with the other half rolling up for a game, and everyone that was there saying the pitch was okay, so I have contacted Bill Bailey who is looking into the matter now.
Also regarding forfeits, we have now had 2 late forfeits against us this season (today and the Friday before we were supposed to play Flinders) and 2 late forfeits last season against us, so we know how unfair it is.
Anyway we will try and beat Torrens Valley for you but maybe do yourself a favour and beat them yourself if you want to be the Champions.
My tip for the title is Hawks, they are the best and most consistent team we have played thus far.
Personally I don't care who wins the league.Master Kong wrote:Thanks for those kind words Bodo, yes we "INTEND" playing the last game of the season against Torrens Valley.

Thanks for clearing that up Darkknight, but unfortunately half our team rocked up due to us not being able to contact them and as I said the pitch was ok and obviously it was very windy there. But we now have a few players a bit ticked off with the late call made, as you can well understand. Anyay see you next week at Port Elliot.darkknight wrote:in reference to the Monarchs postponing the match, it was not due to the pitch being unplayable - but the conditions of the weather. We had 3 players go there at 9 in the morning - to which they advised the conditions of the weather was terrible - and could possibly cause considerable injury. I know half the players were disappointed in the delayed game - but in the interest of safety this call was made early to try to avoid any of the southern breaker players making the trip down - otherwise for a local club we would have waited to later.
