My mum was born in Rotterdam so I have some stake......
Even though she dragged me to dutch clubs till I was 15 it's not the same as cheering for Australia.
Either way.......Go the Orange as whilst Australia wasn't involved they were my side........

Anyone with a different last name went through the same cabernet at school, your not that special.
It's not just WOGS that went through it....If you were FAT you copped it, If you were SHORT you copped it, if you wore GLASSES you copped it and so on...
It still goes on and if anything is worse because bullying is not only physical and verbal but happens electronically for the world to see.
Most of us have moved on, you though either love playing the persecuted or really have some issues that stem from your childhood...If it is the latter, I am sorry but you need to talk to someone or at least be a part of a large group hug.

I'll pass thanks. I wasn't even in the country, half the people on this forum weren't even born when you were being called a "wog".
As far as I am concerned, someone whose both parents were born in greece is undeniably greek but you are also undeniably australian because you have an australian passport. If you didn't have one then you would be able to claim you are not australian.
Things I am owed because they're too tight to pay up:

Colossus: one photo and one letter from his "attorney".

I never once heard my father call a greek a wog - he'd look strangely at me if I even referred to them as that.
You have an australian passport you are more than just australian born. YOU ARE AUSTRALIAN! If you claim not to be australian, why do you have an australian passport? Bit hypocritical isn't it. I am not australian, I do not have an australian passport. I have a British passport with a visa in it. I do not vote because I am not a citizen.

Re: Attention: Serbs in Adelaide
Dont know where this came from Hawkesy but your father never grew up in Australia at any particular time did he??? If NO, then its fair to say that your father would use the term you do and not the term WOG correct??? Still dont know what this has to do with anything you have quoted above though??? :?Hawkesy wrote:COLOSSUS wrote:true story that, but im sure they heard their fathers plent of timesHawkesy wrote: ........half the people on this forum weren't even born when you were being called a "wog".

I never asked you to accept it Hawkesy, im just telling you how it is to me. Im an Australian born Greek, thats the truth of the matter. I have an Australian passport because i was born here just like i would of had an Iranian passport if i were born in Iran or an English passport if i were born in England. That doesnt make me Iranian or English by blood, just by birth. I didnt have a choice where i was born much like i didnt have achoice to whom i was born, so i take my Australian birth as i do my Greek parents, without a choice though i love them both to bits. The reason i wasnt born where my parents were is the whole point of the matter, and we all know why that is. Having said that, i was brought up in this country as i would of been brought up in any other, in the Greek way, whats so hard to understand about that??? The only hypocrites, are those who called me a Wog when i was growing up but now abuse me for not calling myself "Australian", thats whats hypocritical. As ive said before, im very comfortable with who i am and where i come from, its quite obvious though there are plenty who are not and thats bad luck for them, because i aint about to change, its not in my bloodYou have an australian passport you are more than just australian born. Cuuunt you guys all just cool it now? I bet if you were cut all of you would bleed red blood, so we're all sort of generic Aussies. Otherwise let's just declare "Her Majesty's Prison Australia" (as Hawkesy put it) an economy, not a nation.
As a kid at post-war Marryatville Primary school out at Kensington Road opposite the Chelsea cinema in the late 1950s/early 1960s, we had players from England, Balts from Estonia with names like Laan, Greeks, Germans with names like 'Horst', Italians, Cypriots, Germans and multi-generation Anglo backgrounds with names like Miller, Barlow, etc. We played aussie-rules football on Friday arvos when the sheilas played netball, and soccer-football on Saturday mornings at Hutt Street parklands. We never thought in any racist terms through sport. We got the farkenn shock of our lives when we got to Norwood High School where there was no soccer team and the latin, chemistry & physics teacher embarrassed us in front of class about playing "that fairy sport" and bludgeoned us into quitting South Adelaide junior colts soccer club to play aussie rules for the high School...

Re: Attention: Serbs in Adelaide
the point is I am not one of those hypocritical people who called you a wog, nor was my father. You are a bubble, a wog is a very derogatory word for a west indian or african in my language.
Facts are these: Legally you are australian and whether I/ME/OR ANYONE ELSE feels differently, the law is very clear on this one.
