I think there was plenty wrong with how we played, hence the early exit. Playing a 4-3-3 for the past four years did not work yet Lippi stuck with it. He must have been watching a different Confed Cup to me last year because, although it is a joke competition, Italy looked awful. Lippi did not take anything from that and instead he looked for excuses - plus he kept players that were clearly struggling, like Cannavaro. It was a waste of two years.

Can you please stop using "draws against NZ" or "finishing below NZ" as some kind of mark to show how poor a team were? Leave NZ out of it unless you actually want to recognise that they played a good tournament (not exciting for a neutral to watch but effective). We only had to win by one in our final game not fucking 4 like the Wombats. You've obviously got no desire to see the game improve here and you want to make sure that NZ stays at the bottom as the benchmark for every other team to smirk and giggle at. I can tell you that the uefa qualification is not seen as that big a deal in England, the FA award is seen as perfectly sufficient.

I can tell you that the uefa qualification is not seen as that big a deal in England, the FA award is seen as perfectly sufficient.

Not prepared to admit that stonger football in NZ is a benefit to Australian football in providing another defence against Rugby and League raiding young player stocks in the area? The partisan attitude you show is just one reason why Soccer will struggle in this region for years to come. You probably want The Phoenix kicked out of the A-League because you can't stand the fact that AUFC couldn't beat them last year. Look at the bigger picture. I would have said Netherlands but it's a fair call. My point wasn't about Spain winning or not being able to embarrass themselves clearly it is possible that Portugal could score a bucket load of goals against us (they do have the talent after all) my point was that really Italian fans/those who defend the Italian team are the last one's that should be calling England's performance a disgrace considering they didn't even make it out of one of the easiest groups in the competition.

I don't care less about football in NZ, why would I? I'm not from there. I don't care about the A League, apart from teams with ex Millwall players in them - Iffill at Phoenix is a legend. Why would I care about young player stocks going to rugby in nz or australia?

However, I will probably be in NZ next year for the world cup. Should be catching up with a few mates over there including an ex NZ Knights players.
