I spent my teenage years in Virginia, and called my many Greek friends 'wogs' - still do; as they called, and still call me a 'pom'. It was friendly banter, all religions, races, shapes etc were given some sort of nickname..I think it's the Aussie way!

I was on a Peruvian website reading their commentary on the Serbia - Australia, and as they are not in the cup and the game involves non-south american teams I thought I would translate the writer's opinion and put it here - see below (I have only translated the key parts): - this is the way this writer saw it
