Aussie Fans at the WC
Paul Trimboli said this morning that we have the 3rd highest number of fans at the World Cup. Behind South Africa and i wonder who else? Per capita we have the number 1 amount of fans there. Its great to see the sea of green and gold at games and (when theres no vuvuzelas) hear them chanting.
Having such a strong support base travel must surely send a message to FIFA that football fans in Australia are very passionate and would it help our 2022 World Cup bid?

You could hear the Aussie fans above the vuvuzelas this morning.... booing the ref, and booing that blonde Serbian player who tried to claim a penalty early in the match.....

Yeah I have heard it as well. I think there will be more of it in later stages, with less and less Africa's teams in WCt9rres wrote:it was really good this morning to hear Advance Australia Fair chanted by the aussie fans in the crowd

Re: Aussie Fans at the WC
We were actually 4th.
South Africa
United States
England
Australia
Germany
In saying that, there seemed to be a couple more Germany supporters than Aus supporters in Durban. Its hard to tell because the South Africa supporters all wear green and gold as well.

Not that it did Australia any good - you need a decent team on the park as well remember.
Never argue with an idiot - they bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Thank you Einstein. I'll be sure to pass your words of encouragement on to the Italians, Greeks and French, just in case they were wondering.Trimboli wrote:Not that it did Australia any good - you need a decent team on the park as well remember.
Now, if you're lucky, you could hack through your ankle in five minutes.
Re: Aussie Fans at the WC
Thank you Mad Max and you have pointed out there are certainly others teams who have proven to be a disappointment to their nation too however at least Italy and France have shown in the past that they are able to sit a football's top table and for that matter Greece have actually won something - Australians however placed far too high an expectation on their team driven by an ignorance of actually how good you need to be at this game and not tactically naive with ordinary players - the same happened at the last world cup when Neill stupidly went to ground trying to tackle an Italian in the box. Until Australia grow up a bit more and loss that naivety (and it won't happen over night) then they can only dream of getting beyond the last 16 I am afraid.Mad_Max wrote:Thank you Einstein. Anyway who are you kidding thinking that those nations would give a toss what you think and what you had to say to them?

Re: Aussie Fans at the WC
Difference is we were aiming to make the second round.
Italy and France were aiming to lift the trophy.
The greek were probably just happy they got there and couldnt give a stuff about playing
Itfailia.

Colossus: One House
Costa: One Lunch
Oh and add in
Colossus: one photo and one letter from his "attorney".
