Re: Sunday Div 3 round 8
Dont think theres a prob with supporters joining in celebrations chaos, love the passion in the Brahma/Para games and they would have been pumped with that win and so they should have been. The issue is more turning to our players and supporters, finger pointing, fist waving, abuse hurling during your club song after the game is over. Who Are Ya, Who are Ya? we're Brahma, if youd bothered to stick around afterwards rather than twaddling off home after your ungracious victory song, you would have been more than welcome to come join us and get to know who we are. Your coach and a couple of other fellas including the big booming loud mouth fella bothered to come in and we all had a laugh about it. If i knew the world cup was being played at Cockburn Green yesterday i would have bought a big annoying plastic horn and blew it all game. Its a long season and if this doesnt fire our boys up then im not sure what will.
Some good loads down at Para, including some good friends of mine. Gracious winners get more respect than those who arent. If your happy to portray the opposite then thats your choice, just dont be surprised if it doesnt sit well with others.
And yes JC5 and others are not from Brahma. The Brahma lads have been around long enough to know that the talking is done on the pitch, not off it. As far as im concerned a deserved win yesterday for Para, never a dull game between our 2 coubs and look forwad to the return fixture

i was there supporting para sunday. i know quite a few people from brahma and for certain they would of given us a bit of the same treatment and stuck it up us, if they had won the match. top of the table clash is always going to excite fans. all game was quite vocal from both ends of the pitch. sunday football, banter and piss take, then into the bar! who would want it any other way.

All the lads were just fired up after winning this important match! No disrespect meant to any of the brahma lads. It was a great game to be involved with and good to come out on top this time! =)

Firstly, I like to state when you arrive at a ground and you get called scum by a official (Reserve Team Coach) of the opposing club you think what sought of day we are in for.
To the credit of most of the players in the First team it was a hard fought game which see-sawed throught-out the day.
As for celebration after the game I don't believe showing a united front from all the players and supporters isn't a sign of disrespect to the opposing team but a loyalty and passion for a club which fights for every ounce of credibility from all teams in the league.
Like every club we do have some supporters who at times go over the top with unnecessary comments but don't believe for a second that this is indicative of what this proud club is all about.
As for not coming into the clubrooms after the game, I know for a fact that both coaches and our most of the Club Executive went for a drink after the game without any hesitation.
Let's hope the next time both meet that the competition will be as fierce (but fair) and that we both clubs are in promotion mode.

Getting a little sensitive aren’t we lads? I have played in enough games against the Lodge where I have had to walk away amongst a similar backdrop and had you blokes taken the points I guarantee the song would have been loud and proud and supporters would have been sticking it right up us. Hell, they were in the B’s.
This was a massive game against a quality club (that many predicted would run away with it this year) and a win was huge for Munno Para. So if some got a little over-exuberant are you really all that surprised? You could keep your bar closed and that might quieten a few down (probably make some louder ).
It is a long season and maybe it will come back to bite us on the ass but hey, you might as well sing while you're winning sometimes. It seems like there has always been a lot of mutual respect shared by most at the two clubs and I really hope that nobody took some chanting and celebrating to heart.

Now I know which guy it was, he has a mouth, but is a very nice bloke who will enjoy a bevvy after the game. Isn't that what the amateurs is all about?

I think youve missed my point mate, I fully agree with your supporters and players celebrating what was a well deserved and hard fought win. Directing who are ya comments and other inflamitory nonsense AFTER the final whistle has blown towards our players just seemed a bit out of order. On The Pine wrote: Getting a little sensitive aren’t we lads? I agree with everything else you say, great atmosphere at the game as always between these 2 teams, cant wait for the return
Re: Sunday Div 3 round 8
dont start that bollox, the comments were flying from both directions, i was close enough to your coach. our clubs both get it on a weekly basis!footballdoll wrote:Firstly, I like to state when you arrive at a ground and you get called scum by a official (Reserve Team Coach) of the opposing club you think what sought of day we are in for.
Erm maybe re-read my post, you'll find i chatted to all those fellas in the club, good lads. Dont really care if people come in or not, thats their choice, i was more perplexed as to why the others were asking 'who we were', if they were that interested they should have come in and shared a beer and got to know us. Maybe a group hug would have been in order.footballdoll wrote: As for not coming into the clubrooms after the game, I know for a fact that both coaches and our most of the Club Executive went for a drink after the game without any hesitation.
