Christ, you lot make it sound like you're really hurt personally that someone doesn't support or identify with a country in the same way that you do.

I've got a couple of friends that say (very different people, with different processes to arrive at the same conclusion) nationality and patriotism is a dangerous thing... the more people jump up and down, the more I agree with them.

The fact that you have a Greek heritage and enjoy their way of life is a choice that you make. I am happy for you, that you have a strong passion for the culture of Greece. You have the ability to choose to live your life the you want to without copping s--t from anybody else. It is this ability to choose, that makes this country the great one that it is. But you are still Australian.

PS. No offence is intended by this post, and hopefully none is taken. Yes, there are a lot of people out there, who are sensitive about their ethnic status in Australia, but going back to our parents, and their parents generation, it was these people who helped build this great country.

A more likely scenario (although Branson will make the first very likely soon enough ), your parents are on a holiday in lets say India and your mother is pregnant with you and doesnt make it back in time to have you and you are born in India. Im not going to look it up, but if you google 'top 10 livable nations', i can guarantee 1/2 will almost always be Norway then Australia. These lists are done based on many factors. Ive seen both these countries and a whole lot in between. I'm not spouting anything other than what I believe to be the truth

I don't get why Hawkes likes arguing with you so much, you don't get much. What quantifies living then? I studied at the uni of zagreb, rented an apartment, spoke the local language...? But thats a holiday in your view. Id say i was pretty immersed in the local culture.
