World Cup Finals = World War II

Post by Hawkesy »

This world cup is like world war two. Poland didn't even make it to the start, the French surrender early, usa come through late and we are left to fight the fucking germans!

Serbia play a minor role.
But will try to convince you they won it 50 years later.

The Spanish State under General Franco was officially non-belligerent during World War II. This status, although not recognised by international law, was intended to express the regime's sympathy and material support for the Axis Powers, to which Spain offered considerable material, economic, and military assistance. Despite this ideological sympathy, Spain did not enter the war as a belligerent and, in fact, frustrated German designs on Gibraltar and stationed field armies at the Pyrenees to dissuade Germany from occupying the Iberian Peninsula. This apparent contradiction can be explained by Franco's pragmatism and his determination to act principally in Spanish interests, in the face of Allied economic pressure, Axis military demands, and Spain's geographic isolation. - Wiki.

Looks like they were fucking everyone up the arse. If that's what you mean by neutral then yes, they were neutral.

To be fair it amazes me that we were giving material support to anyone considering our country was in ruins at this time due to the recently finished civil war

Speaking about WW2 last night to an ex Royal Marine. He started in South Africa, then up to Libya and on to Sicliy. He said, "we ran them out of Africa once, we can do it again."

Wouldn't say Poland didn't make it during WW II, they were the first to fight against Germans and later attacked by Russians from behind. If someone didn't make it then, it was England and France, waiting, wondering and letting Poland to be torn apart by those 2 forces.

How could it have been a WORLD war if only 2 countries were involved? WWhen WW2 started poland was already captured.

Ask anyone that knows the subject when has the WW II started. Ok, will save you googling, it was in September 1939 when Germans attacked Poland.

Bastard Krauts signed a non-aggression pact with the Poles then invaded them days later. Is it any wonder no-one trusts the Germans??
