Keepers are known to play till their 40's and I can't see any of the reserves (at this stage) taking the position away from him.

It's pathetic that you view it in such a way. Honestly two mistakes, how about the number of deffensive errors that cost us goals and the amount of goal scoring opportunities we failed to convert? Get your head out or your arse dude :!:

youre not a keeper are you...maybe youre his brother....merely pointing out that 4 years is a long time and that players 'live and die' by the mistkes they make and/or dont make.

what was the name of the england keeper V USA...ive forgotten him already......

where in my original comment did i suggest he should be dropped or even retire???? nor did i imply that it was entirely hos fault we didnt progress. simple question...did he cost us 2 goals that normally would be his bread and butter????

the goal conceded against serbia cost us momentum.....

My point is he has been one of our best players and if you're talking about the goal against Germany...that still wouldn't have been enough to send us through?? We would've been on -1, Ghana still on 0, surely you're not suggesting that he should've stopped the penalty?? Were it not for Schwarzer probably would have conceded like 2 or 3 more goals.

technically megabonus is right, mark suprised me by stuffing up on a couple of chances he would normally take. he seemed hesitant sometimes, and his handling was off sometimes. besides that tho, he was still a rock for us at the back, because without him, things COULD have been worse.

All the Keepers have struggled with the stupid ball this WC.

Find me a keeper that hasnt made a stupid mistake this comp!

BTW Langerak in 4 years could take the place of an ageing Schwartzer. I love Mark but Mitch might get him.

the ball isnt to blame for marks couple of mistakes. hesitating, and poor handling cost him. that is all.

You asked where did you imply he should retire, I never said that you had implied he should retire, I called you an ignorant ass for saying that, he 'cost' us the qualification, 2 goals maybe ok, but how was it enough to send us through?? 3-0 loss against Germany and 2-0 win over Serbia would still give us 4 points with a goal difference of -1...not enough to put us through. Goal against Serbia may have cost us momentum but it doesn't mean we would've gone and scored another 2 goals

our lack of options up front is a bit concerning for 2014, 4 years is long time but it would take quite a bit of work before Id have confidence in Ruka, leckie, burns, troisi, bridge, brosque at a world cup

Hopefully a couple step up to be able to play at the highest level.

Ive said it before but Id like us to cap Richard Porta at some stage, just to give us another option if needed, if hes crap oh well he gets one cap but since mcdonald has had 12 chances without showing alot (i know hes not suited to the 4231), but since porta is under contract to a Serie A club i figures he's worth minimum one cap

we need to do everything we can to set the team up so that McDonald can score
we haven't had a real goal scorer up front for a long time...
