What I have seen though, is a lack of accuracy from long range shots. The ball seems to veer off and climb when it leaves the foot. Also, when passes are played out to the wings, if there is just a little too much weight on the pass, it speeds off out of play. If allowed to bounce, players are becoming disinterested in even chasing it, choosing to just let it skip across the line.
The ball striking of some of the free kick takers has been poor also, and that I attribute to the Jabulani. The most visible proof that I have seen however is the effect on a player's control and touch. The basis of a top team's success is the ability to maintain possession and move the ball forward, but it looks as if many teams are struggling to do that.

this ball sucks big time.

What? Your birth or the fall of the wall?
Now, if you're lucky, you could hack through your ankle in five minutes.

Careful Sirfire...Colossus will be on you. Because it is obvious that it is not the ball but the players, the pressure and the altitude that are causing all of these errors...especially considering this appears to be your first post. Hmm 3 pages on this topic now Col and not everyone agrees with you...shame on everyone else!

Adidas have hit back saying it's on the record that goalies were queuing to say there would be goals galore because of it's flight. But now that there's been less goals than expected it is claimed outfield players are finding shooting and passing difficult. What excuse next? South and central Americans don't seem to have many problems...

The Jabulani weighs 440 grams and meets all FIFA requirements in terms of weight, circumference, bounce and water resistance.

Not my fault you people cannot appreciate the game and need to find excuses for some overpaid primadonnas  Keep blaming the ball, the truth is if you cannot finish from 10 yards in front of goal, blaming the ball is the easy way out. Id much prefer the player that acknowledges he stuffed up and got it wrong and will do better next time than those like yourself who use the ball as the scapegoat or better still, the EXCUSE :D

That was 1989. The Soviet Union dissolved in 1991, so I guess that would have made you a toddler at the time.

Well its all about marketing isnt it? The reality is FIFA sold the rights for the WC balls to Adidas and of course they only need to meet these requirements outside that FIFA wouldnt have predicted that it has taken 37 games before the FIRST set piece goal to be scored due to it bouncing in front of the keeper and that the ball would do different things to what is normal ..... IE No drag so it floats more, no curve as its too perfect to do so and now coaches are instructing players not to shoot directly at goals unless its along the ground.

sorry guys the ball has stuffed this WC as a specticle.

Teams that a doing well a futsal teams cause you need to walk it in.... South Americans sides should be enjoying it.

Funny thing is you'd think it would promote a more attacking game.

Clearly that's not the case.
