Re: Sunday Div 2 Halfway Point...
To be honest after playing every side, IMO any team could take points from anyone else in the league on their given day. I think the winner and promoted sides will come from the top 4 sides but it really could be anyone from that lot. We obviously got off to a flyer but were humbled by a very good vista side at the weekend, grove are quietly going about their business and Inter have proven to be very hard to beat. Depth is going to play a huge part with it coming to that stage of the season where injuries/suspensions obviously occur.....but I cant really see an advantage there for any of the top 4 teams either seeing as all reserves sides up there and amongst it. One thing for certain is it is going to be a very close finish to the end of the year and it may well come down to the last round. As for relegation, unfortunately for gully and pirie they've had a horror start but as stated above there are still 27 points up for grabs and anything could and probably will happen!!
Re: Sunday Div 2 Halfway Point...
Agreed, promotion will come from anyone in the top 4.
Will be interseting to see how many points PHE will pick up in the next 2 weeks (Grove away + Inter at home). Goal difference may be Grove & Inter's short comming!
I think it will be that tight.
the relegation battle will be decided this weekend with Pt Pirie at home to TTG.
I think the loser will be relegated and if its a draw, both will be relegated!
Macedonia will still pick up some wins and have a good goal difference (compared to the bottom 2)

pirie to come good in the second half of the season. Has taken a while for them to get a settled side, but now they have done that and consistant efforts will follow. Should have been about 5 nil up against macedonia on the weekend if not for the excellent goalkeeper. Game would have well and truely been over by 15 minute mark of second half. Savoy missed about 5 great opportunities and when these chances are not taken it keeps the other team in the game.

must be somethin funny in the water up at pirie, maco's prob worst performance of the yr, n yet we lead twice from memory, n woulda lead 3-2 if not for the weak penalty that was saved promptly by ya keeper. i know cause we had half our b grade playing we can get back players and improve on our wins, but i can't imagine ull stay up. best of luck though. i wanna know where the 5-0 bit came from though?

fair enough mate. Not sure how many players you had out. A true reflection of the score line should have been about 7-4. Your keeper made 5 one-on-one saves. Keep the game alive.

Cooneeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. You and me can have a chat about that weak penalty at training mate when you are in front of goals. Dont take the piss out of an old man who is on his last year before retiring sun shine.

As for Port Pirie, you lads should not be at the bottom of ladder. Your striker is an outstanding player who in my opinion should not be playing amateurs. Your Sweeper is very cool calm and collective on the ball and is very diciplined in his game play. To Port Pirie's Credit, they never gave up and did have some goal scoring opportunities which could have made the loss very embarrassing. Oh Well, that's division 2 for everyone!!!!!. To bloody unpredictable from the middle to the lower end of the ladder. In regards to the twins, cheers for the good battle, and I will see you at our ground when the time comes.
Best regards Nicki

Thats what keepers are meant to do...should've could've etc etc....yes you played our B team and yes we missed the penalty at 2 all and could've won 3-2 ourselves but it didnt happen....best 11 we had and put on the park...congratulations on the win.... the positions on the table reflect our performances to date and not what should've and could've happened....im sure everyone has stories to tell.....good luck for the second halfWHY wrote:fair enough mate.
