What's even funnier is the fact that Aussie supporters have not let go of what happenned 4 yes ago! But what's even funnier is that NZ did what Aus couldn't do, and that was score against Italy, albeit offside goal! Oh and they did it against 11 Italian players as well!!
Chivas, see it as a positive, the next time an Italian bags the A-League, you can say that the Italian NT couldn't beat a team with majority A-League players, and the A-League top scorer scored against their 'world class' defence.

Italy 2010 a world class defence? BAHAHA, that deserves some of these .
I reckon most Italian fans saw this as one of the weakest areas of the team.

Defence is the weakest part, i still maitain that our strikers are good, it's just how Lippi is having them play. Except Iaquinta...he's just crap.

yeah 2x world cups during the depression paid off by mussolini when half the countries in the world didnt exist and 1x in 2006 where for the billionth time i na tournie or qualification campaign they had it easy...australia and ukraine i ntheir way before coasting to the semis...typical jag every time

BEFORE the game, Italy's stars said defeat would be "unthinkable" - LOST 1-1 but New Zealand stunned the world champions by holding them to a 1-1 draw.

Not sure how you can make accusations about 1938 when Mussolini had nothing to do with it, nor 2006. It's not Italy's fault that France finished second in their group, setting up a quarter final clash with the winner of Ukraine v Switzerland.

Agree... you can only play who you're drawn to play.

so lets bag Uraguay win in 1950 as only 13 teams competed
or Germanys win in 1954 with only 2 south american teams and only played 2 games in the group stage so these competitions were not competive??? italys wins were in knockout tournaments and with at least 16 teams in each tournament so there is no point downgrading the results as they are still good strong wins, so every other team who had won a world cup when countries like Uklraine and Croatia did not exist are not worthy winners
dont talk rubbish , seriously ! brazil and england are the same then as they had boycots and less teams to stop them winning! get a life
sounds liek your just scared italy may get up and do it again slow to start and big finish - better than fast start and disppointing finish " does sound familair 2 minute man !!!

So Brazil in 2006 would not have deserved to win the world cup because they beat Australia with a very pro Brazil Referee (every soccer Ananlysts recognises this)
and yep Ukraine are shit they only had the best striker in the world on their books

1938 World Cup:
"On this date in 1938, the most ominous of World Cup soccer games ever was played [...] The Italian team received a telegram from dictator Benito Mussolini reading simply, "Vincere o morire". The world, including Hungarian goalie Antal Szabó (ph), was told of the simple, terrifying translation, "Win or die". Hungary lost to Italy that day. Some say they lost deliberately, 4 to 1. "I may have let in four goals," said the net minder Szabó, "but at least I saved their lives." Only problem, "Vincere o morire," translated literally as "win or die", in Italian sports vernacular, however, it simply meant, “"Give it your all, guys." Oops."
How in Christ's good name does Vincere or morire mean "give it your all guys" hahaha unless my Italian is very poor, I can understand if it means die in the sense that you die in the tournament "get knocked out" but seriously "give it your all guys" seems a bit of a stretch
The same way that a million colloquialisms in English mean what they mean and have absolutely no relation to the literal meaning of the words actually said. I'm sure some of the ESL people on this forum could enlighten you.

I think it is obvious what the problem is withe the Italian side, they dont have mirrors in their changerooms, completely upsets their pre game preparations - apparently from now on they are bringing their own.

What the!!!! I tell you what guys, take out your passport and look real closely at what Nationality is written on there. I think you will find that 99% of you fall into the same category. Even funnier is that 99% of you commenting on here are probably born in Australia, with Australian born parents. OK, be proud of your heritage but that does not take away the fact you are Australian and should be proud of it.
