I dont know about "very lucky" Baggio, i still think we had the better part of the posession up until they scored and we started much better than our last game. Probably luck in the fact that it took a Red card to wake us up but after that moment, we could and should of won by a cricket score, we had no luck in front of goal and that Nigerian keeper should be playing in the top leagues of the world if he doesnt already. From a neutral point of view, youd have to say that Greece showed exactly how you should play against 10 players, keep the ball away from them by constantly pushing it around, spread them wide, get plenty of crosses in, mix it up with some entries through the midfield to run them off their feet a little, and plenty of shots. Agree with you with the Nigerian red carded, what was he thinking at 1 nil up??? Oh well, it happens i guess, and full credit to Greece after i deservedly bagged them for that insipid performance (if you can even call it that) v South Korea, they did everything right after that red card and deserved the 3 points 8)

When I refer to Luck I refer exactly to the red card.
I doubt Greece would of hit highgear without it, it gave them the belief that had been lacking in game 1 as well as up untill that point.
Nigeria, dropped too deep and just allowed Greece to attack from all angles, very poor display by the 10 man Nigeria, not how 10 men should play.

Either way Greece scored and they won, which is more than some countries have done :D Greece are results driven and don't play the most attractive football but since King Otto has taken over they have been consistent and very structured. You can be defensive and win championships, just ask the Italians!

Dumb way to get sent off. Nigeria couldn't settle for a draw so that made Greece's task somewhat easier.

Got a feeling they might find the Argies a tougher proposition.

of course the arggies would be a tougher proposition but not overly concerned about that right now.. still basking in Greece's win :D

on reflection tho.. argentina have already qualified no matter what happens they will be top of the group so maybe and i pray, messi and tevez will be rested for that match and as we have seen argentinas defense isnt the best in the world...

if we can play the ball on the ground like we did this morning with the confidence the greeks have atm, anything can happen

Spot on Baggio. If it wasn't for the red card we would of been talking about another insipid Greek performance.

Greece played exactly how you should against 10 men, deserving red car, Greece capitalized, scored there first goal in a WC and got a win to boot. Does not matter the circumstances they are the facts, well done, celebrate and enjoy now because Argentina is next on the plate and that will not be pretty.

Good effort however we are talking about 2 teams that are straddling the “how the f did they qualify” section of the competition. The good thing is that there will be a few venues across Adelaide that are breathing a sigh of relief because they will be able to get the joint rocking when Argentina put on the under 15’s team on the pitch. I have a sneaking suspicion that the Blue and white will finish 2nd in the group and make it through to the round of 16

My question is, why the fuck did Otto in the Korea game 1) Play the out of form Cahristeas & Seitaridis???, 2) Not play our best midfielder Karagounis in the centre of midfield???, 3) Not start Salpingidis & Kyrgiakos, and 4) play Vyntra as a central defender??? In my opinion, he cost us that first game as much as Pim cost Australia in its first game with bad selections and a horrendous style of play. Greece will be ruing its lost opportunity, even a draw v the Koreans would of been enough. Oh well, lets just enjoy our first goals and 3 points at a World Cup and hope that Maradona has some mercy on us because if we play a full strength Argentina, i would hate to think how many they could put past us 8)

We qualified through pure ass m a l a k a, but that doesn't mean we don't deserve to be there.

Greece will do our country proud. There will be goat hearders all around Greece proud as punch that the mighty blue and white have claimed the scalp of Argentina and Diego Maradoughnuts after our next match.

You just wait and see. Once it happens, then come to Westies and have a yiros with me Billy....

I agree with you we deserve to be there, no question of that although after that performance v South Korea would suggest otherwise and why Billy has said what he did, but talk about claiming the scalp of Diegos team??? Fark me dude, im passionate, but not even i would openly and confidently suggest that. Of course its possible but a long shot as far as i see it although ill be in full voice and support. Argentina have a pretty average defence, but if they more than make up for it in the middle and up front. If Messi and Tevez dont play, we are half a chance :D

Congratulations to Greece on their first WC goal and win. They looked terrible between the first goal and the red, but really came alive after that period.

Red4, i think you'll find Baggio meant it as in "what the fuck was the player thinking???" and not the way you took it!!!

No need to generalise jocky, your "typical" Greek is much more than emotional, he is patriotic, passionate, intelligent, handsome and believes everything is BETTA with FETTA :D Now it was the national anthem Kosta had posted and like he said, it wasnt meant for you
