All teams play with the same ball, and there have been no players up until now who have after a game blamed anything on the ball, now grow up seriously

100% disagree with this Col.COLOSSUS wrote:Nothing wrong with the Vuvuzelas, reflex wrote:Horns, jabulani ball, lack of goals,....
I'm here at it completely kills the atmosphere of the game. People blow them for no reason at all other than to make noise. No one knows if your supporting one team or the other. Very little chanting or cheering going on because your drowned out by these stupid horns.
Try eating dinner at the casino and have 10 horns blowing in there. Try been at a night club at 2am when someone blows them. Try having someone blow them near where you sleep at 7am in the morning.
FIFA must ban these at future world cups.
Re: Things that peeve me about the world cup
You may find something wrong with them but that is part of their Football culture Jay and most of us knew it was, we were warned before hand. Thats what they call atmosphere which is obviously different to the atmosphere you like. Maybe should of picked another World Cup to go to without being rude Jay. Dont go to another country and complain, because that is rude as far as im concerned. FIFA doesnt need to ban them because they are only used in Africa dude. You are there now, make the most of it, enjoy and help Australia get over the line. Have a great timeJay Walking wrote:100% disagree with this Col.COLOSSUS wrote:Nothing wrong with the Vuvuzelas, reflex wrote:Horns, jabulani ball, lack of goals,....

Thats my whole point Duo, if you dont like it, dont go, how hard is it. You wouldnt see me at Hindmarsh if there were vuvuzelas blowing for 90 minutes, im not that stupid Its all about CHOICE Im also comfortable with the fact that this is South Africas World Cup, and they can host & parade it as they like within their borders, you guys are unbelievable. When in Rome, do as the Romans do, if you dont like it then dont visit Rome, simple really. Talk about fucking whingeingDuoRichards wrote: i'd like to sit next to you at Hindmarsh with a vuvuzela for 90 minutes and see what you think of my atmosphere

I hear at Euro 2012 in Poland and Ukraine, the crowds are going to use guitars and play just the one note. Tip is that it will be G-sharp. Same thing pretty much?

Re: Things that peeve me about the world cup
Generation Z or whatever you are need to start appreciating all facets of the game, not just the ball hitting the back of the net. My father always used to tell me as i was growing up that "its not just about the ball hitting the back of the net, but more how the ball got to be there". You need to appreciate the game as a whole and not just the final outcome because more times than not, the final outcome is a product of some team building stuff my friend
Are you joking? Its all about the ball in the back of the net.
You need to stop watching AFL my friend. Yes, the aim of the game is to score, but you arent going to score by just taking shots from everywhere without having a plan, a style, to suit your team, its that simple jock. Getting the ball in the net requires many things to happen, and they just dont happen by kicking a ball long and hoping for the best all because you want to see goals Learn the game buddy before making silly comments
Unfortunately, it's the youth of today (my kids included) that can't appreciate the finer points.
Short attention span, can't spell, resist work, communicate only via a keyboard and want instant gratification. When I was a kid, I was up all hours of the night watching scratchy Channel 2 telecasts (often delayed) of selected World Cup games - and I loved it. Now, kids have every game instantly beamed in via HD satellite and they stay in bed and ask the scores next morning.
It's actually sad, and applies to all sports - technology is killing the sporting enthusiasm of the next generation.
I watch in awe at what we now have available to us by way of quality video, instant statistical info and a globally-connected soccer family......but most kids don't care.
