Group H: Spain v Switzerland
Switzerland’s slim chance of causing an upset against Spain has been further reduced following confirmation that Alex Frei is ruled out with an ankle injury.
Frei, who has scored 40 international goals in only 73 matches, has not trained since Switzerland have arrived in South Africa although Ottmar Hitzfeld has dismissed as “absurd” suggestions that his star player is out for the entire tournament.
West Ham’s Valon Behrami is also missing for Switzerland but should return against Chile. For Spain, the main doubts concern Fernando Torres and Andres Iniesta.

spain to win. hope vila gets a few for the sake of my fantasy team.
Re: Group H: Spain v Switzerland
I dont think Switzerland touched the ball till the 10 minute mark
. So far Spain is playing fairly well but as far as "entertainment value" of the game, so far not that good.

Dan Birdwell - You have to play this game like somebody just hit your mother with a two-by-four.

Spain's starting XI is amazing, with Torres, Arbeloa, Fabregas on the bench too...
Theyre dominating but have no goals to show for it. Villa has been quiet

Bloody luck merchants. Why do I get the awful feeling we're going to miss out on qualification for the next round on 6 points.

Would have been a good lesson to learn before playing Germany, the others we should be able to beat on our own terms.Big G wrote:Hopefully the Aussies can learn something from the Swiss...... Lol

Looks like Germany are the pick of the teams from the first round of games.

IT'S the biggest shock of the 2010 World Cup so far - underdogs Switzerland have defeated tournament favourites Spain 1-0, who had 24 shots on goal.

surely they can't be counting those that went 15 yards over the bar as shotsTOPGUN-JIMMY-AUFC wrote: underdogs Switzerland have defeated tournament favourites Spain 1-0, who had 24 shots on goal.
Re: Group H: Spain v Switzerland
Was like watching Inter v barca all over again, kudos to the swiss though. Held on for a memorable win despite looking time an time again that they were gonna crack under the pressure of wave after wave of spanish attack.
the spain chile game will be awesome i am thinking, Chile don't look like they know how to sit back and defend for their lives so i imagine we will have an open attacking game with both teams scoring plenty. Has the potential to be a real shootout.
