C'town v Salisbury Inter tonight at Newton
C'town have had some inconsistent results in their first few games in div 4 so far, and with Inter looking to continue their unbeaten run it should be a very interesting game to see just what this C'town side can do.
Dont expect too much.
My prediction is that C'town will do just enough to win tonight to convince the FFSA in staying in Div 4 and then continue on to win the league. (Not that the FFSA need convincing as they have already made the decision, apparently).
This means that unfortunately Salisbury Inter will be denied the rightfull title as 2010 league champions, as they look unbeatable at this point but still get promoted as runners up.
0-0 last night, a very hard fought game for both sides, pitch had a mud bath taking up the middle left side!
watching the game I didn't feel that campbeltown were holding back....they had four on the bench...and still didn't manage to score...
I cant say as I disagree (Totally)
Yes ... a hard fought game both sides and in the mud particularly on the near side of the pitch to the club. A bit like the game stuck in the mud. Somewhat funny at times too..
I dont think they were holding back either.
Their keeper didnt seem to have much contact in the game however, except on the occasional time when Inter got a quick break out from defence.
Most of the play I would have to say was in Town's attacking half and had many more scoring opportunities than Inter. At a guess I would say by 8-10 shots to Inters 2-3 but still couldnt finish and credit to Inters keeper as well.
This does tell me that these two teams are perhaps competitive but still highlights the gap to the rest of the field.
Lefty has already highlighted that Div4 seems to be a 1 horse race and is correct IMO.
Last nights result does not change my mind however that Campbelltown should not be part of Div 4.
They are certainly worthy of placement in a higher division as are Salis Inter.
