The prems game was actually more interesting than the scoreline suggests... it was kept to 2-1 at half time, but then there was a 10-15 minute break in the 2nd half where Cumby seemed to lose focus and Fulham took advantage and slotted the goals thru...

Not the first time that this happens if I remember correctly...Fulham though have a stronger team and they are going for the title, so it's normal that young teams have problems with them.

Fulham had an awful first half, prob their worst of the season. Playing poor balls through the middle and unable to find feet. Regrouped at half time and went back to basics n used more space and scored 4 well worked second half goals. Cumberland didnt lose focus, Fulham just stepped it up n Cumby couldn't really match their intensity. Cumby are a decent team tho, they have improved since the last time we played them, despite the scoreline

gubs who scored for fulham??? i cant remember i know MJ scored.......

yeah i fully agree with gubs about cumby. they have an awesome young group of girls and have a coach that is willing to take time and coach them instead of dictate... yes they are going to lose games and maybe they will lose quite a few games but with a young squad like they have - you can only go up. I wasnt at the metro vs cumby game but you can already see improvements by them beating metro. obviously lep wasnt in goals but thats a great result to have against a strong club like metro.
if they keep that squad and keep concentrating on the basics like playing simple balls, not playing thru the same player (meg deakin), playing to feet instead of always playing the thru ball for the forwards to run onto - then they will be a powerhouse and i would put money on them winning or coming close to winning the league in 2013. that is clearly a few years away and i understand that (!!!) but like they always say "it doesnt happen overnight"

there ya go cumby - there is my plug for you, you better not prove me wrong in 2013!!!!!

- just a quick thing, its like adelaide united womens team, we arent going to be the next geelong overnight it will take 3,4,5 years to have a squad that will blitz the other states. it isnt that we have group of s#!t players - that isnt the case. its purely that sometimes you have to start from the bottom and work your way up and i personally believe (being apart of it for 2 years) that adelaide united do have the power and people behind them to be not just a consistant team or a good team but a GREAT team in the near future...

Cheers Shorty
As you rightly observe, our squad/team is a work in progress...one step at a time.

Yeah there is a massive gum tree between pitch 1 and 2 at Adelaide City... Has been there for about a million years... Although the tree does slightly over hang the pitch the clsoest branch is at least 40mts high so you can hardly see it as an obstacle... In the 8+ years at city I have only ever seen it hit maybe a few times?!?

The ref gave a indirect free kick to City instead of a drop ball (she was fair average anyways!) AND However it's not our fault the Gardens kicked the ball 100mts into the air.... Yeah because someone is really going to header it up there!!!

Really did not think it was WTF situation

i think saying slightly over hanging is exaggerating.

where has it been posted that we have said its City's fault :?: yeah clearly they would not have been able to header it up there but what about on the way down :?: it would just be like headering the ball from a goal kick only difference here is it hit the tree

i would have like to have seen the ref's call if the boot was on other foot :!:
