Nothing more annoying than "musical instruments" at a game, particulalrly when no-one has music skills (take note drummer at Hindmarsh)

Almost contemplated turning the sound off during last nights match.

Apparently FIFA overturned a ban on musical instruments at this World Cup because they said the horns were part of the South African culture?! What a load of bollocks. 90 mins of that crap will put off many neutral observers that football is trying to win over.

When you think of musical instruments at football matches you think of those steel drums etc the South Americans play.

Six one one and half a dozen of the other. If you ban one you have to ban them all (including Manolo's drum).

Hey, that drummer at Hindmarsh is responsible for about half the noise - we need him (besides he's not that bad)

IMO, the drums sound nicer than and have a better contribution to the atmosphere than the bloody cacophany of those frigging horns just blaring constantly for 90 mins.

I'm not arguing which sounds better because neither annoy me as much as david basheer's commentary. If Fifa bans one they'll have to be consistent and ban them all, whcih I wouldn't have a problem with.

I was thinking of muting the sound also last night. The drummer at hindmarsh is totally different in that there is only one of him and he cant play constsantly for 90 mins at the same level. But 5000 of those F. U. C. K.I. N. G horns was bloody awful!!!

Its one of those strange South African things that they think is great. Its only going to get worse. Lets hope they get knocked out early so they don't have anything to blow about.

all musical instruments at football should be banned, they create false atmospheres.

South Africa's first goal at this world cup, the celebration will be a tribute to them.
The whole team will run to the corner flag and pretend to play them.
Things I am owed because they're too tight to pay up:

Colossus: One House

Costa: One Lunch

Oh and add in

Colossus: one photo and one letter from his "attorney".

I've always dispised the noise made by South American football fans. The South Africans are even worse. These countries need to look at English football for atmosphere.
