I would like to see a reserve division for the Div 1 comp.
At the moment the jump from Div 1 to prems is difficult. If 1's could train and develop as a proper squad with 1st team and reserves it would be better preparation for the move to prems if eligible for promotion.
Currently if PL teams are relegated they have the added "punishment" of their top squad being split up and suddenly you're 1st & 2nd teams are playing at different locations at different times without even home games together sometimes.
If the structure of Div1 properly matched the structure of prems it would be a smother transition back and forth.
If a div 1 team doesn't have the players for a 1st and reserve team then they shouldn't be in Div 1. Div 1 is for teams that are ready and trying to gain promotion to Prems.

I don't just want to have my cake and eat it, I want to go back for cheesy biscuits and tiramisu.

So where exactly would you have these teams play? Div 3? Lower? They've earnt their place in Div 1 and just because a club doesn't have depth shouldn't mean the team can't play at the highest level they can.soccer4life wrote:
