Football Freak :

Out of Modbury`s 16 Team this year 5-7 players are going up to U/19`s,
2 are staying at U/16 level, the rest are going to U/17`s.
Not bad out of a squad of 13.
Out of that 13 : 90% played a game or two in the U/19`s in 2006.
Might not dominate U/17`s in 2007 , but will get them primed for 19`s in 2008.
And that is what it is all about. Developing the players.

Well that settles it then, the Jets have shown that developemnt is the key to successs :D

They also got a bonus in winning the league and cup as well.

Progressing players is a long term thing and the results are not often seen until a few years later.

Well done Jets.

ps. Any vacancies in the other junior sides next year or are all the trials completed ?

Although he was injured most of the year, Sam Beythien has the potential to be playing 19s next year.

HEY MACKIE,

Just wondering how many games have you watched at Federation level and then gone back and watched E&D sides, :?:

My son played E&D for many years before going Federation and i can tell you we are glad he left when he did it is a totally different stile of play.

I have also found that the longer you wait to make the change the harder it is to get into a good side. :?

Don't get me wrong i am not bagging E&D it is a great starting place for all kids to start but if they want to take soccer seriously they do need to go Federation.
