Question - English football

Post by Hawkesy »

How many teams have played at Old Wembley, New Wembley and Millenium Stadium?

I don't know the answer but was intrigued as to how many have managed the hat-trick.
Things I am owed because they're too tight to pay up:

Colossus: One House

Costa: One Lunch

Oh and add in

Colossus: one photo and one letter from his "attorney".

When have Arsenal played at the New Wembley Stadium? I said united. I know Liverpool won the last FA Cup at the Millenium Stadium. I don't know where the charity sheild was played the following season.

FA Cup semi final last season vs Chelsea
or are we considering the New Wembley as the most recent pitch relaying?

you didn't say United, you said Manchester United

don't know for sure, but I'm guessing they would have
most of the playoff teams from the Championship this season would have too, and any that were there last season

"unoficially" in 1945 and then again in 1999.

only once?
England and Wales have played each other nearly 100 times, surely more than one of those has been on Welsh soil in the last 10 years?

Barnsley have...

Old Wembley - 2000 Championship playoff final (lost to Ipswich Town 2-4)
Millenium Stadium - 2006 League One playoff final (beat Swansea City 2-2 AET, 4-3 pens)
New Wembley - 2008 - FA Cup semi final (lost to Cardiff City 0-1)

Was there at all three matches. Millenium Stadium was by far the best stadium for the "cauldron" atmosphere. New Wembley was very disappointing for atmosphere. That middle tier that they sell to corporate folk was empty and it affected the noise levels terribly. Old Wembley was decent but the views weren't up to those given in a modern stadium.
