Townes Van Zant and Etta James. Just got back from Bluesfest in Byron Bay and me thinks Joe Bonamassa is the great white hope as far as blues is concerned.

I have a few old Mickey Newbury vinyl records in the shed...his music is not everyone's cup of tea !
He had a strong voice, told great stories and was a handy (acoustic) guitarist.
