JUNIORS MOVING UP
should it be up to coach or the club on players moving up
some times clubs don't see the whole picture.
aim for one in players going up if they up to it to go to next level,
because i don't like players missing out on an opportunity, but i think,
the coach should have a big say since he spends a great deal of time with kids.

Give him a break, English could be his second language (if not do yourself a favour and use the spell check
). Surely clubs would discuss any player movements with the coach, player and in a most of cases with the parents. In most cases they seem to get it about right.

I think people in glasshouses shouldn't throw stones. Looks like you've got an issue with the Queens English yourself!Bresciano wrote:I think u need to learn the English language b4 you worry about this.

Must be hot in that house of glass

Was it really a question was it, more of an opinion wasn't it?footballfan wrote:Did those responses adequately answer your question RIDER ?????
Reality is that in general each instance of a player moving up is subject to individual circumstances.
Hopefully clubs and coaches work to together on these things, but there can often too many egos on both sides to make things work smoothly.
There usually has to be a place for a player to move up to as well.
Time for some righteous indignation

Re: JUNIORS MOVING UP
Don't like Modbury much do you sabaisabai 3 posts each one a tirade about the club, and you know nothing about modbury if you think they play players down to win games. Bit rich if you ask me, with you being associated with Campbelltown or Comets.

Well if you are from Para Hills (I doubt it)...being involved at Para myself, can I say....pull your head in pleasesabaisabai wrote:Wrong....Parahills.prefly wrote:Don't like Modbury much do you sabaisabai 3 posts each one a tirade about the club, and you know nothing about modbury if you think they play players down to win games. Re: JUNIORS MOVING UP
So your a Para supporter but your out watching 14A Campbelltown, Modbury and Comets playing. Have an opinion by all means but no need for the abusive language and expletives mate. Its not necessary and just sounds like you have a personal grudge or some anger management issues to deal with. You do no service to yourself or Para with that attitude.sabaisabai wrote:Wrong....Parahills.prefly wrote:Don't like Modbury much do you sabaisabai 3 posts each one a tirade about the club, and you know nothing about modbury if you think they play players down to win games. Re: JUNIORS MOVING UP
Speaking only for myself, all clubs drop players for various reasons including player injuries. What is disapointing is when clubs drop a number of players down and some of their regular team has to miss out on a game. It has been well documented on this forum that this does happen but I would be surprised if Campbelltown 14s or Modbury dropped players down for any other reason than having 2 or 3 spare players on the bench. Having a team of 14 to 15 players is pretty much standard these days I would have thought.

Well that plan seems to be workingsabaisabai wrote:If the 15A game is easier then they play less in that game to play more in the other.

Modbury 15As are currently 1 win out of 6 and third from bottom.
Now, if you're lucky, you could hack through your ankle in five minutes.

Re: JUNIORS MOVING UP
Ok, lets take another angle,
coaches who have NEVER or RARELY brought players down speak up ?
It also has a lot to do with the timing of games which is why often teams bring players UP if it means fielding a team or at least even having some subs on the bench.
Speak up or forever hold your piece . . . .
or peace

Every club does it if they need to. If you don't believe that you are kidding yourself. Until they change the rules, we have to live with it.

Re: JUNIORS MOVING UP
To those who bang on about youth development and castigate other teams for bringing players back to their proper age group, I would say this.
I agree that Junior football should be about developing players NOT about winning so surely your argument doesn't hold water. You can't on the one hand say the result doesn't matter (because your team is all about development) and then moan when you don't get the result you want because other clubs, quite legally, play players in their own age groups (for whatever reason they want).
As a player, you improve most when you play with, and against, better players so, by bringing down better players the opposition are actually doing you a favour and aiding your development.
I do however, feel sorry for the kids that are replaced but that is an internal issue for the club and nobody else.
