Below is the pre-game write up off the ffsa website - note the last minute change of venue
Adelaide Airport Limited Premier Division and Division One Game of the Month - 14/May 2010

Women’s football will take centre stage at the home of Devine Homes Super League Club, Adelaide City, at Adelaide City Park, Oakden. In the first of two games, Division One rivals Elizabeth Downs and Gawler will clash in a local derby game, with Elizabeth Downs seeking to jump start their season following a disappointing start, while Gawler will be looking to build on last weekend’s result, which saw them comfortably defeat last year’s Premier Division team, Para Hills Knights.

Gawler who started favourites to gain promotion to the Adelaide Airport Limited Premier Division in 2011, have been strengthened this year with the return of ex National League Goalkeeper, Shannon Kunst. Elizabeth Downs will not only need to find a way past Gawler’s talented goalkeeper but also overcome past results, having not beaten Gawler in their previous meetings.

The second game of the evening will feature the Adelaide Airport Limited Premier Division local derby clash between Cumberland United and Sturt Marion. Geographically these two teams are only separated by a couple of kilometres and in the league standings, they are only separated by goal difference. Sturt Marion who are coached by Nathan Fleetwood, Adelaide Comets Premier Division Player and ex-State player, have been very competitive in all of their games to date but have been unable to capitalise in front of goals. They will again look towards ex-Matilda Sharon Black and up and coming Young Matilda Sian McLaren to edge out Cumberland United.

Cumberland United who is renowned for developing young talented players, will be relying on youth and speed to overcome Sturt Marion. Cumberland has also demonstrated glimpses of what they can do but have unfortunately been unable to consistently put together a winning display. Sturt Marion will have to nullify Cumberland United’s young guns, Ellie Chapman, Megan Deakin and Katherine Ebbs if they are to gain the three points from this tightly contested game.

Division One Game of the Month
Elizabeth Downs V Gawler – 6:00pm

Adelaide Airport Limited Premier Division Game of Month
Cumberland United v Sturt Marion – 8.00pm

Venue: Adelaide City Park, Cnr Fosters Road and Hilltop Drive, Oakden

OMG I had just checked the ffsa website before my post because last week I posted wrong info...! And the info on the website was that the game is at Marden!!! Again...

Oakden is even further from both Cumby and Sturt...why do they do this? Because is closer to the D1 teams maybe?

Anyway, hope it will be a good game! :D

so, basically now it's:

Curtain-raiser: Elizabeth Downs - Gawler at 6 pm
Prem game: CUMBERLAND - STURT MARION at 8 pm
Friday 14 May (Tomorrow)
Adelaide City Park, Cnr Fosters Road and Hilltop Drive, Oakden

i called the ffsa to ask why, and they told me it was due to Marden advising them yesterday that the change rooms werent available to the teams, so they had to find an alternative venue and Adelaide City men offered to host the match.

Sounds like the usual ffsa B/S.
Just another way to make the game a joke.
Lucky I read the forum today because otherwise I would have gone to Marden!!!

In all honesty, the game of the round this week should have been Adel City vs Metro....very fitting to have it at adelaide city park also (even though mens and womens city teams aren't affiliated).....Sometimes I dont know where their heads are at. Any ways....Good luck to Cumberland and Sturt, may the best team win!

do the 'home' teams feel robbed of a home pitch advantage at all or are they happy to be involved in a night fixture. that being said all those clubs could host night matches anyway couldnt they?

Alot of womens clubs dont have sufficent lighting to play night games. I think it is great that we get to play some games at the mens grounds. It promotes the womens game, we might get some new spectators from these night fixtures at mens clubs.
I don't think us at Fulham would feel robbed. But I cant speak on behalf of other teams...like metro :P

Cumby moved grounds with view to the future and hence dont have good enough lights for night games - YET...it's top of their wish list though. Could have lights good enough for night games now probably, but would only give area of one pitch under lights and it is more of a priority to spread the available lighting to allow more space for training nights at the moment.
