How do you think we feel we will probaly have maltese eddy again this week. Possibly the worse b ref in the history of the game. The lads are still dirty on his last years effort..

I think we should all be thankful - regardless of how terrible they might be - that they show up and ref a game, otherwise we'd all be playing collegiates.

I think people should be a bit more grateful that we have referees at all. I for one wouldn't like to be a referee for some of the games I hear about on this forum, yet people bag the cr*p out of them for one poor decision. I'd like to see anyone in their jobs and professions not make one mistake (except a pilot, a doctor or a porn star).

I also think clubs should invest in hiring a ref for their home reserves matches. We pay whoever does our match and line regardless if they are from the club. This maintains a healthy view of the fact that if someone does complain about their officiating, we can bring in someone else anyway who may want to be paid. I think any club that is opposed to this idea would probably admit to liking their home ref being biased when need be.

Oh, and all clubs should stop playing the offside trap in Amateurs. I mean, seriously, what do you expect?!

for each reserves match, the games have started off being neutral, competitive and in good nature, the referee's then start to favour the home side and basically spoils the game. Example of this was at A.Villa V Wanderers, reserves game yesterday which I had the pleasure to watch, The game started off really well, both teams attacking and looking for an opening and was a hard, clean contest, Wanderers took the lead through a well worked goal, they scored a 2nd shortly after, which the referee disallowed for handball, which really baffled everyone who was watching that was for sure. A.Villa then really started to play the ref, and he was happy to blow up everytime they called, dived or just wanted an advantage which started to spoil the game. 2nd half A.Villa came out strong in the 2nd half, equalised, then on the run of play went 2-1 up, still a competitive match, but seemed that if A.Villa wanted a free kick they could just ask the ref., Wanderers should have had a penalty when Villa's keeper keeper decided to clean up one of Wanderers forwards just as he was about to shoot. Wanderers then equalised, not sure how that was given, maybe he thought he would have a riot on his hands as the game was getting quite heated at this stage, anyway ended up 2-2 which was a fair resullt, Villa had most of the ball, but Wanderers had most of the chances.
But the game was just spoilt by the refereeing, I am sure both teams would have had much more enjoyable game if the referee's do not act this way, the game is trying to create an image for players to respect referee's but when they are so biased how can they gain any respect.

The B team referre is probably the most unbaised ref I have ever had the pleasure of playing with. He is the always calling it fair and does not favour AV at all. i guess when u dont get max points, then the whingeing starts!!
as far as the game goes, AV had a goal disallowed for offside due to the linesman, who was at least 10m behind play flagging it??????

neways, to start a topic about the B team Referee, is disappointing. Most of the boys from wanderers are a good bunch of blokes and were sharing in a few jokes after their game. Its dissapointing that u need to vent ur whingeing on a public forum, considering the B team ref did a great job!
I played in the game, ref not too bad, but players for AV definately called the shots, any whingeing is from your players on the pitch everytime it does not go you way. Shame you see the game in your rose tinted glasses.

Nice to see someone put something in perspective. I would love to know which Villa player would have spat, as I couldn't imagine anyone from that group of boys doing it... if that was in fact the case we as a club would do something about it and I will assure you we will follow it up and ask the question. (Not tolerated in my book).
As for the Wanderers supporters and reserve players during the A game......I say again.......thank you very much for your support and control during a time which could have turned very ugly!
As for myself as a supporter and player of this club and this great game in general feel dissapointed with what went on in the A grade game as the game was far from dirty and never looked like heading in that direction.

Personally I thought the goal should have stood.
What is the exact ruling on hitting a keeper?? Is it only if the keeper has the ball in their hands? Didn't really look like the keeper touched it?? :?

The only thing about spitting I heard was from one of our players saying he was spat on. It's possible there was more spitting going on we'd like.

And yes, a lot of our B's are whingers. Bit sad really. Normally our ref punishes us for it. Not one of his best games on Saturday but I'd say the result was fair even if the way we got to it wasn't.

you didn't play against simba last year.

He made the ref at murray bridge, adelaide uni and falcons look like they were FIFA quallified. In fact Puma's and Straph were the only decent ones.
