Asians and Diving

Post by Russia2O18 »

the Chinese are quite good at it...they win many gold medals during the Olympics..even their Super League players dont mind going down somewhat easily

however, my observation of Korean and particularly Japanese teams is they dont do it any more than the top league players in Europe

so painting the whole continent of Asia as divers I think is inaccurate, unfair and ultimately xenophobic by some

In the Japanese league it's usually the brazillian imports that do it more than the Japanese.
There's people rolling around on the carpet, biting wool and pulling string

Asia is far more than just 3 countries...
watch some of the smaller nations play (especially against an Australia/South Korea/Japan etc), they're all over the ground
not so much the diving but the rolling around time wasting
I remember seeing Australia vs Bahrain a couple of years ago and we were up 2-0 and they were still wasting time because they didn't want to conceed more goals and mess up their goal difference. It was blatant, pathetic and just plain balls-less

whoever said that the Brazillians are the ones who dive in the J-League and the like though is spot on
that Alexandro or whatever his name was (for Pohang I think) was beyond a joke

yes, but as far as the ACL goes, there's only teams from 3 countries that Melbourne will ever play, China, Korea and Japan

absolutely disgraceful..... I was sitting near where it happened and you could see clear as day that Vargas didnt touch him...

no surprise to see majority of United 'uneducated' fans went up in arms though....

Like the refs in ACL. Pick up rough play and penalise which allows the better players to play. A-League too physical - I want to watch skillful players - any hack can bring someone down when beaten.

Makes up for all the shit Muscat gets away with anyway.

I always think the late John Warren had the answer. In the big world competitions and tournaments bring in post match yellow cards after a video review of the game by the four match officials. Sure it would initially result in huge amounts of yellow cards and suspensions but it would quickly rid the game of cheats who dive, shirt pull and hold players in dead ball situations.
