Re: Sat Div 5 & 6 interchange
Who needs a legal opinion? The plain English understanding is pretty straightforward. Was there interchange last year in Division 5C and Division 6C?

Re: Sat Div 5 & 6 interchange
Technically there was not. As per last year we have been advised by the SAASL they will not change the rules to allow interchange in div5/6. However, as has happened in the past, and as advised by SAASL, if the teams informally agree to use interchange on the day they will not be penalised. From our experience in Div6 quite a lot of the teams are okay with this.Kitchimo wrote:Who needs a legal opinion? The plain English understanding is pretty straightforward. I was advised by Alex Cic that there WOULD be interchange in the C divisions this year. I will clarify tomorrow.King Elijah wrote:Technically there was not. Last year there was no interchange, but they've since given the green light for this year.

Re: Sat Div 5 & 6 interchange
Sorry but interchange is only relevant in non-competitive games (eg kids under 12 and below) or pre-seson trials IMO (regardless of rules etc).

Bigoted sob that he is, I agree with Orsksey
Interchange is fine for old fellas league or if both teams agree, but otherwise – no way

Re: Sat Div 5 & 6 interchange
If there was no interchage I wouldn't get to play at all. I'm now too old & slow, I have the turning circle of the QE2, one of my knees is shot, I can't jump more than a inch off the ground, there is no power in my shooting, my reaction time is poor, and my fitness non-existant. No team in ther right mind would give me a game! Thankfully, because of interchange last year I managed to play in about 10 games, 15 minutes each half. Even that was a generous gift from my mates as they had to cover for my inadequacies. Sundays are no good for me (see you in church some time
), so the over 35s league is out. My only alternative is to retire & I love the game too much for that.
So thanks SAASL for the interchange.

Re: Sat Div 5 & 6 interchange
This was such a problem in the C grade last year. One team wanted interchange, the other follows the League rules and didn't. The first team gets annoyed.phantom wrote:Bigoted sob that he is, I agree with Orsksey

By making it the rules, there is no problems now with interchange. If a coach wants to play a game as just substitutions, they have that choice. But it allows someone like me to get a decent run. Like 50 minutes, rather than 10 at the end.

Re: Sat Div 5 & 6 interchange
Last season the SAASL put on its website that it was not allowed. From that point on our club referee refused to allow it, even if both teams were happy to do it.
We know exactly what you've been searching for

We still got asked after that. And we continually refused it.Googłe [Bot] wrote:Last season the SAASL put on its website that it was not allowed. From that point on our club referee refused to allow it, even if both teams were happy to do it.

When is going to be confirmed to referees that we are not now supposed to follow the laws of the game?
Things I am owed because they're too tight to pay up:
Colossus: One House
Costa: One Lunch
Oh and add in
Colossus: one photo and one letter from his "attorney".

The LotG allow for changes to the substitutions (amongst other things) for players with disabilities.Hawkesy wrote:When is going to be confirmed to referees that we are not now supposed to follow the laws of the game?
Disability is defined as an "activity impairment, which is a difficulty encountered by an individual in executing a task or action"
I have a difficulty in running for 90 minutes, so does that qualify?
* This post is not intended to make light of the true nature and difficulties of those with a true disability
