After reading the subject header, I was about to say "not australia".
Otherwise...there is a junior clinic being run these holidays for 6-14 year olds by former NSL and Super League coach Nick Pantsaras by Vipers FC. Check out the information here:

Agreed, 'the cats in the cradle" and all that
6 is too young for a club anyway

Especially if they concetrate on just running and hoofing the ball forward!!Knight7 wrote:blue moon wrote:work life balance mate, he's only a kid once.

Andre Meyer runs an Academy with Paul Agostino.
When i attended several years ago they trained kids around your son's age. I dunno if they're still doing it now though.

a few hours at a club will make him feel like one of the big boys, but iPod, find the time now while he is six, 'cos it sure won't be the same when he is 16!! good luck

I think they;'re doing older guys now - may be wrong.El Capitano wrote:Andre Meyer runs an Academy with Paul Agostino.

Clinic is good for kids at that age, player to coach ratio is better than club football.

In all honesty... let him play ssf with a local club and or get him into "tiny tots" little athletics or similar.... very very good combination of sports for growing children.

try 'Backyard Football Acdemy' - developing players since before we were kids.
cost = $0
Emphasis/Philosophy = fun, experimentation and growth through learning in a non structured and adult environment
Equipment = lawn, pavers, concrete, trees, walls, steps, jumpers (for goals)
to add a 'game sense' element, invite some friends around and playing according to the following rules;
1 V 1 - you'll be surprised how dribbling techniques and defending is qickly developed
ins and outs
3 corners a penalty
small goals
use of a wall pass encouraged...especially with the wall
no refs
give it a go and let me know what you think...........

That will never take off in Australia, we make superstars (heaps of them, just cant remember one at this point in time) by putting 9yo's on big pitches !!MegaBonus wrote:try 'Backyard Football Acdemy' - developing players since before we were kids.

Funny you should say that. It's the same everywhere it seems. Was just reading this article and I vividly remember not being able to kick the ball hard enough to get out of the area (and that was when I was 17 - joke before someone else says it).Zeljko Jurin wrote:That will never take off in Australia, we make superstars (heaps of them, just cant remember one at this point in time) by putting 9yo's on big pitches !!MegaBonus wrote:try 'Backyard Football Acdemy' - developing players since before we were kids.

At least we have SSF and smaller pitches here.
