Fulham trashed C'town 7 or 8 nil...Fulham definitely a force this year, with Olympic IMO. C'town a bit disappointing maybe but it was their first game of the year so theres plenty of time to improve.

Sturt lost to A.City 4-1

Toros Div 5 18 Flinders Flames 2

Toros Div 2 2 Para Hills 0

Toros Div 1 2 Flinders Flames 3

Toros under 17 0 ABE 6 or 8

The Div 2 game was a close encounter with Para having a couple of golden chances in the first half. Toros played better in the second half scored two good goals and puhed on trying for the third. Para had a couple of one on ones with toros keeper near the end which they weren't able to capitalise on.

I hear the toros div 5 game was as the score showed one way traffic. Hopefully for the flames girls they will keep improving while for the toros girls this was a good first up game for them and will be interesting to see what the other teams are like in this division as I am sure the competition wont be like this all the time for both teams.

Only heard bits from the div 1 game. Toros scored very early flames hit back, penalty a piece which I was told at leat on of the penalties were a little questionable (for toros if I remember correctly), so good first up win for the flames and both teams I am sure willl be looking for ward for the next game.

I am pretty confident in saying that the competition WILL be like that most of the time for your team, unless you didn't have the starting 11 you will likely have throughout the season which I doubt was the case. Without trying to offend any other clubs/teams in Div 5 I can think of at least 5 who you will also likely beat by a margain of 10 goals or more, my team included.

A bit unfortunate for all involved I guess....

Firstly On the side, the toros div 5 team was just about all of their regular players with no 'stacking'. Secondly thanks for the heads up about teams in this division. I'm sure all teams will improve over the season and as long as everyone has fun then the competition is achieving what it is therefore, to encourage women to play football.

Have a good season.

wow, looks like we have our league winner already! That's a mighty performance from a supposedly new team. On the side is right, Flinders weren't a bad team last year, and certainly didn't lose by margains like yesterday. If the Toros team is going to be the same all season, there are going to be some cricket scores! I think we might see a record goal difference at the end of the season.

Its unfortunate that after one game people want to assume you stack a team from the first result, considering we had new first time players , players that had returned to the game after a couple of seasons off , only having 11 players available for the game, a new coach . I cant say what Flinders were like last year but Toros played with there heart on there sleeve, well done girls from your coach.GO TOROS. :D

not sure if you are referring to my comments but I did not accuse Toros of stacking

'unless you didn't have the starting 11 you will likely have throughout the season which I doubt was the case.'

it probably could have been worded a whole lot better but my point was unless the 11 that played on sunday isn't the team likely to play all season, which i doubted was the case - (im sure it was the 11 that will play each week) then you will win each week by a good margin.

Um, what division did they last play in? What I saw were skills far above Div 5 level.

At least half of the Flinders girls were playing their first game - not the best introduction.

I'm interested to see what happens after a few more rounds of competition though.

Flame,

The toros div 5 team was made up of last years under 17's, new players and some who are dropping down becasue they can't train work committments and only playing for fun. Some ar talented and probably could play higher but aren't interested in more than a kick and giggle so to speak not sheep stations.

Tough for coaches as what do you do with these sorts of players? Be assured most of that team are there for the season. We all can understand when a team is mostly made up of new compared to some that have played.

Hope this clears this up for you.

Eliz Downs 2 Ad Uni 2 div1

Downs 0 Uni 1 div 3

Wendy Carter told us in no uncertain terms last year that we must change our maroon playing strip when we play Uni as they clash. Upon speaking to the ref on sunday about the clash he said that was ridiculous and he could differentiate between black and maroon and he had no problems with it. Seems the only time it becomes an issue is when Mr Gregan refs the game!

your u17's made the cup final last season, players dropping down from div 1 and 2, and you've put them in div 5  :?:
You can have fun playing in any division. Looks like your girls are gonna have a lot more fun at some other teams expense though

Two, regular div 2 girls went down. Several not all under 17's moved up . The rest are new. The team only had 11 players or maybe 12! I think there were 3 from last years under 17's?

Hope this clarifies the numbers and therefore clears up any part that you or others maybe alluding to. Those same two girls came up to Div 2 as they had only 14 the club had 6 unavailable this week for seniors.
