Reserve games should two equal periods of 45 minutes. End of story. So many people think otherwise including current officials. I'm willing to bet most have not read the LOTG or the SAASL competition rules and if they have, not for a very long time.
Anything else you guys want to know?
Yes. What gives the SAASL the right to refuse teams from wearing black?
They MAKE the competition rules. No one forces any club to join SAASL.
Things I am owed because they're too tight to pay up:
Colossus: One House
Costa: One Lunch
Oh and add in
Colossus: one photo and one letter from his "attorney".

just out of interest after the AFL game today at AAMI Stadium ... the South Australian Amateur Football League Team of the Year 2009 will play a Country Select side...
good to see the AFL allowing a Amateur side using the ground after an AFL game

maybe the FFSA could learn from this
your point is still the same I guess but the sanfl control aami stadium not the afl
There might be a difference. If the SANFL control the ground and also control the Amateur League they are just helping out a club that comes under their jurisdiction.
The FFSA control Hindmarsh but do not control SAASL - which is of course the whole point of why they don't want to help out a SAASL club. Any way they might leverage SAASL clubs to lobby the SAASL leadership to bow to FFSA pressure is fair game for them. Things like the FFSA not allowing FFSA clubs to play friendlies against SAASL clubs for example.
Stirling District (est 1967) 32 seasons successfully avoiding a Championship then this
1999 Div 2 Champions
2002 Div 2 & 2B
2004 Div 1 & Champion of Champions
2007 Div 1 & 1B
2009 Div 1B
2011 Div 1B
2013 Div 2B & 7C
2014 Div 2B
Otto62, just a correction if I may. The SAASL Cup Finals were played at Hindmarsh in 2009.
The FFSA do not control Hindmarsh, the Govt does through Rec & Sport.
This is why the FFSA cant stop the SAASL from booking Hindmarsh.
My info is that the SAASL semi's and Cup finals have already been booked at Hindmarsh for 2010.
There can be no comparison to the SANFL owned AAMI.

Haven't seen the 2010 Management Hanbook yet.
our reserves ref also states that reserve fixtures have to finish by 2:45, is this law in the manual?

I have been told 2:50pm in the past by Man Utd John.

I haven't seen anywhere what time it is supposed to finish. Just the start time of 1.10pm, 45min each way with a max 10min interval= 2.50pm without stoppages/injury time.
I believe as long as you start on time, you should be able to finish the game in time to allow the first team referee to perform his prelim duties with about 10min to spare.
If you haven't started on time, then you need to apply the rules in the 2009 Management handbook and shorten the halves by the appropriate time.

Rumours still going around Metro League will be formed in the next year or so under the FFSA. I would think alot of teams would make the move.
Because the company the SAASL used to build their website is a week or so late going live??
Yep, we will all move over in droves because of that.
a week or so late??? You would think it would be higher priority and been up and ready early Jan.
I think loads of teams will... SAASL is nothing, has no affilation with any Football governing body in SA or Australia. Cant even supply referees. And the Referees associated with the league arent affilated with FA.

and still have they best run comp.
sweaty this was an issue two seasons ago FFSA held a meeting to discuss the New Fangled Metro Comp and from memory two amateur clubs turned up out of respect. No questions were answered no real structure was offered and none of the fed teams were interested in including an amateur squad aswell as their fed teams. It was the biggest lame duck ever put on to a drawing board.
Hey but every now and then a black duck walks in and says quack quack quack!

All of the refugee African teams have moved to the 'FFSA-affiliated' Collegiate League, due to politics.

An underexaggeration, but yes, the FFSA couldn't sell water in a desert.

It has a lot of money, a good competition with a lot of strong clubs and isn't badly run by a group of volunteers. SAARA is still loyal to the SAASL and have said that even some Reserves games will have a referee this year.
But if you and your club aren't happy, then enjoy the FFSA

Politics?
I'm going to assume that, in order for the government to give these clubs their grants, they have to be involved in a FFA regulated competition. Or something like that.

Just a guess.
Surely they're not all still getting fucking handouts to play football.

I suggested it may be for similar reasons when discussing why these teams had moved across to an FFSA sanctioned competition.
Seems that the SAASL has taken some advice from someone... Just re-checked the Sunday Div. 8 (Div. 1 club 'C' Teams) and it looks like the fixtures have been amended so that all the teams, A's, Reserves and C's all play the same opposition on the same week at the same ground. The first 3 weeks of the A's season are still left vacant for C grade fixtures and those 3 games are set to be played in the cup rounds - or you can do what some clubs have done and move the matches to align with the A's from week one.
