2 teams will go up and unfortunatly 2 will go down...

In all seriousness tho I have only seen three Division 2 teams play this pre season and that is Salisbury Inter, Modbury Vista and Para Hills East.

These teams I believe will do well this season and with Vista playing under Bud Hilton will be expected to do well and with a couple of new players will be up around the mark this year. With Inter being a proud club with alot of heritage will be striding to get straight back up like they did a few years ago. They wont do it as easy as what they did that year tho. Para Hills East have ringed the changes with new players and a new coach and are playing some great Football. And Southern Knights every year seem to look the goods but a string of bad results for what ever reason cost them dearly, but this year with the inclusion on Neary for the full season, Rutter and Elrick from the farm will be very handy pick ups!

Easties are my tip to win division 2 and secure promotion as for the other spot I believe it will be between Southern Knights and Modbury Vista.

Wont get much of an indication on predictions untill a few rounds into the season, only a few weeks left now so bring it on I say!

I think it will be the toughest div 2 for a long time. Depth to cover injuries will be the key. In order to gain promotion this year I think you will want to get 25 goals out of your two strikers. Getting a few early ones in the onion bag and getting the confidence up for the forwards is going to be vital.

Pirie and East (in no particular order) to go up.

Inter and Raptors to be very close but just miss out.

Knights, Vista, Gully, Grove to be around the mark for most of the season and then drop off near the end when the pressure heats up and lose the games they need to win.

Maco's to go down (they looked very ordinary against PHW) and if I had to pick another team Bosna will again struggle in Div 2.

Hardest DIV 2 by far in many a year. To hard to pick at this stage, Easties will be around the mark this season & I can't wait for us to have full use of our new clubrooms & for visiting teams to enjoy them too!!

They will be extremely difficult to beat at home and have the added incentive of proving all the people who have had a go at them for saying they dont belong in Div 2 - they wil be right by the end of the season cos they will be in Div 1 in 2011.

Why do we deserve to one of the favourites????
We have lost 2 of our pre season games and still are a way off the mark for promotion (IMHO).
This league is going to be very tough and for the first year ever TTG and Vista have been very very quite...... not sure if thats a good thing?
Knights have obviously recruited well. At the time when toasty is gone for the world cup will be interesting. If they can keep up they will be ok
Maco's have struggled a bit pre season and i think they will all year
Bosna are an unknown
Inter have a young side, which can go either way. They may not be able to handle physical football, or they are too quick for any of us to catch them :D :D
Pirie are an unknown. A 6-0 loss to pontian would not be an ideal start. I wonder if they understand how easy this league is. Promotion for sure......
Grove will be decent with a few new recruits and should push. They fell away the last few years and will be looking for a top 5 finish for sure. They are going to "piss in the league" apparently........ Nice pitch to play on though

My tip is Grove and Knights promotion
Vista and Maco's for relegation

Interesting reading i must say....seems like we're the favourites to go down again after only one trial game and a scoreline which flattered the opposition who are a division above us....good to be the underdogs in anycase and for those that remember last year we lost our first two trial games by 5 or 6 respectively and got promoted...

personally i think it will be a long tough year for everyone and promotion and relegation will come down the the last few rounds...good luck to all 8)

well thats why the thread is called predictions - have to predict the winners and the losers.

Maco's are long past the days when they were a Div 1 force - can never see them reliving those days again.

Will defintely be fighting it out all year to avoid the drop in my opinion.

in case you havnt noticed we are in div 2 not one and nowhere did i say we were a div 1 or 2 force...but given our club is still in the top few of div 1 premiership holders i think your sentiments are unjustified.....

you could be right about your predictions but if it is based on the past weekends game then you must hold some grave concerns about westies future because if not for a couple of errors by our backline and keeper and the chances we missed from the first minute the boys from the west would be very embarrassed.....

Gully to win the league by about 10 points. Knights 2nd.

Macos relegated.

easties and knights to be around the mark. the grove have a team full of centre midfielders. inter to struggle, not a disiplined side at all. have an angry man in the middle who thinks elbowing and punching people in the face is part of the game.

    Very good mate! Think Grove and Easties will go well this year! Easties have sighned half the world up and the Grove will go well if they dont get too many injuries! Vista will push for a spot with their Modbury signings and PC will fall over a few times and nab a penalty here and there. Gullies will be quite happy to enjoy and show everyone the new facilities!!! :D :D
I think everyone knows Div 2 is a very hard league to stay in let alone get promoted so theres my predictions but may well be a very different picture come the half way mark !! Good luck to all sides and will see which sides actually do stay for a beer this year !!

2-1 before the game was called off. and yes gaining toasty for knights would make them favourites for promotion
